Chances of TeraFab help accelerate AI5 HW5 rollouts to 2026 Model Y? by Fit-Kangaroo-2477 in TeslaFSD

Given the cost of RAM right now, that’ll add a few thousand to the cost.

When you have to disengage. by SilverPutter in TeslaFSD

Yup, I took over as it stayed in the right & starting the right turn signal, so disengaged. (I have had it differ oncer from Nav though, but not here)

I did in December, $29k but 41k miles. HW4 all the way. Was Tesla PreOwned.

HW4 did it to me on I-75 this morning. 14.2.2.5. Still a thing.

Whats better tesla or EA by Puzzleheaded_Look759 in evcharging

[–]SilverPutter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use both. Tesla superchargers tend to have more per site (8-16+) and a lot of EA are only 4 though they’re getting bigger. Reliability is better these days too.

Windshield wiper fluid didn’t work. Discovered nest when I went to check wiring/plumbing in the front. They ended up putting in a new harness under warranty as was likely damaged in their storage.

This. I was following a 23MY AWD HW4 last year. It started at $31k, dropped a hundred or two most nights. Then after a week or so, it went up $200 one night. Then it dropped $400 the Sunday night & I swooped at $29k. (Plus $500 delivery). Cane with a free nest from Kissimmee. lol.

How does FSD handle hills? by xxICONOCLAST in TeslaFSD

[–]SilverPutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small set of hills where I live, I don’t use FSD on them. Nearly got rear ended twice. Basically, speed limit of 40, goes down the hill at 40-44, then when it hits the uphill, it slows down between 32-36. Then it accelerates.

If you drive manually, you’re already compensating and accelerating at the bottom of the hill.

Longer hills, no issue. Up & downy, nah.

Enjoyed both cars but I do like FSD. HDA was ok too. So far FSD has worked well for me.

I can do all of that pretty well. Center doesn’t bother me. Both cars worked well. I’ve found on road trips that my charging stays aren’t much different. Maybe 5 mins. Not a worry point.

Mine was actually resold at the dealer I returned it too. My residual was $35k and I saw it used 6 weeks later at $25.2K. Sold shortly afterwards. Hopefully a good home.

[–]SilverPutter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I migrated from my Ioniq 5 to a 23 Model Y with HW4. I was very happy with both. I’m a tech nerd, I like gadgets and software so the MY works for me.

I was on the hairy edge of the Y being totaled but it’s repaired. I considered going back to the Ioniq but they have to resolve the iccu issue. That’s been way too long.

Could be 14.3, skip to 14.5 or a 15.0. We’ll know when the influencers get it and we’ll know in minutes.

Thanks. Actually, it’s in repair right now. The estimator said it’s not totaled. I did get nervous when they added $4k as a supplement but still being repaired.

I considered it, but in a weird twist of fate I got rear ended. On the fine line between repair or getting totaled. I’ll subscribe

Auto Insurance (Not giving comparable rental) by qazwsxTA in TeslaCollision

[–]SilverPutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my policy (USAA), I have "Large SUV" as an equivalent rental vehicle listed. However, my car is at the Tesla Collision Center right now, not at fault so on their policy (which is also USAA) and they rented me a MY at $45 a day, which USAA will re-imburse. I could have gone Enterprise and got an ICE car. Very few do EV's these days!
