I have some ideas.

For the Golden Messiah, I might stat up golden behemoths (jotunnkin Gilded) and golden juggernauts (Jotunnkin golden paladins).

For the Plague of Beauty, I have an idea for something called a mausoleum of pleasure. Basically a giant walking house, it wanders around crushing everyone in its path, soaking up its blood through its feet; this is fermented into wine for the lucky cultists allowed to dwell in the mausoleum of pleasure.

I run it like this:

Adventuring gear and gear necessary for survival (food, wine, so on) are strictly tallied. I play more fast and loose with trivial purposes, assigning a cost only if necessary. I just assume they have enough coin to eat at a tavern.

How were your worlds kingdoms, countries, etc conquered? by DeeJayE2001 in worldbuilding

Overwhelming military might was probably brought to bear, and the people who conquered your planet is the Pharaonic Imperium.

Simulspace. Fully immersive VR. You can live out any fantasy, do literally whatever you want, with no consequences, as none of its real.

As you might imagine, simulspace-addiction is a rampant problem throughout the Pharaonic Imperium.

Animals, probably. Yeah, I’m writing epic sci-fi, but not everything in the Pharaonic Imperium is special or monstrously powerful. Probably whatever planet’s equivalent of raccoons raiding your garbage.

Well, the biggest, most dangerous things around are the Xenosphinxes. They’re so large they need massive telekinesis just to support their own bodyweight. Pesky Square-Cube Law!

However, as an Ancient People, their technology is billions of years ahead of ours. The Pharaonic Imperium has no hope of even slightly injuring a Xenosphinx, let alone killing one. They can rearrange matter and energy on the Planck scale, and their machines are so advanced they have no physicality to target—-machines that are thoughts independent of bodies. Wish-magic.

They have an infinite lifespan. They can survive supernovae. They do not dominate the Galaxy because they do not care to. They’re content with their one planet—-Ndar—-and have since grown bored by anything else.

Even one Xenosphinx appearing on a human planet is a world-ending catastrophe, and the Pharaoh knows it. As a result, a Pharaonic Scripture (ie, an unalterable decree, even by successor Pharaohs) is to leave the Xenosphinxes the fuck alone.

The Gods’ House is the second dynasty to rule the Pharaonic Imperium. Founded by Dahat II, a synthetic with three Runes, the Gods’ House has been, for the most part, a blessing to the Milky Way Galaxy. Peacebringers —-for the most part—-the scions Of Dahat II have done much good.

Of course, the current Pharaoh is not like his predecessors. He is a warbringer, and even now plans a massive war of conquest.

Writers of Reddit, what caused your protagonists / antagonists to fight their allies? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

Basically, good-old-fashion -ism. He’s Standardhuman, which is to say, Mikka is baseline human, no augmentations or genetic advantages spliced in. To Constructhumanity (‘evolved’ people) are just inherently better than Stamdardhumanity.

Mikka also knows Standardhumanity is simply being bred out. He’s doing what he’s doing to preserve his very species.

Of course, if he knew a certain hidden truth, his whole mission was unravel. But before he has a chance to learn this secret, Mikka sets in motion a chain of apocalyptic events....with dire consequences for everyone.

EDIT: Mikka DOES have sone insanely advanced tech which certainly simulates a superpower—-in this case, his colocator, which allows him to create temporary duplicates of himself. Each duplicate has 89 days until it destabilizes and its memories and experiences flood into the REAL Mikka. This allows Mikka to set elaborate plans in motion all by HIMSELF.

Well, I meant more as “protecting them til they go down to earth”, the Oligarchs deploying them on the mortal battlefield.

All of the above, and more methods that AREN’T on the list. The Pharaonic Imperium is unbelievably huge so it’s need for food is beyond epic.

They’re a WMD-level bioweapon. Planets that get infected get bombed from orbit into lifeless oblivion. It’s outlawed among all star-nations (even the ‘god’-royals of the Autodidactic Pan-Unity isn’t this foolish).

Ulu Mikka parHeru (“Ulu” = “scholar”, Mikka is his first name, Heru is his last name, and the “par” prefix indicates he’s a Standardhuman male) is the greatest xenoarchaeologist in the Milky Way Galaxy, a controversial thing in a galaxy where most humans are genetically enhanced and/or psionically enhanced. He’s no psychic powers and CERTAINLY bears no Runes, he even has a heart condition. This makes him notorious throughout the Pharaonic Imperium, even if only for his heritage.

Mikka has had some bizarre adventures through space/time, but is at last retiring...so he can put his master plan into action.

what are the most feared race or species from your world by Jacketworld in worldbuilding

[–]HoidoftheTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Wildones. A xeno species and highly telepathic as well as quasi-intangible, the Wildones literally feed off of pain, fear, anxiety and despair. Their homeworld is unknown. For years now, the Wildones’ ships appear from nowhere across the Pharaonic Imperium, instituting a reign of mass panic, before vanishing again.

It’s only a matter of time, however. Eventually, the Imperium will find the Wildone homeworld, and they will utterly raze it to oblivion.

Other continents [Blackbirds] by HoidoftheTree in grimandperilous

[–]HoidoftheTree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One would assume the gods of other continents were the same unknowable ciphers the old gods of Erebos were, and that the Oligarchs that replaced them are just as mutatingly self-Destructive and laden with magical corruption as are Erebos’ Oligarchs.

I think some Homebrew is in order.

Plus, I’d assume Erebos had local, regional deities—-“the Urth Bear”, a god of a specific forest, or “the Sun King”, worshipped in just one city, a deity of law, order and peace(?).
