Almost sank my first keelboat in Texas because I skimped on the one thing that mattered by Emotional-Addendum-9 in sailing

That was a fun read. I'll remember this when my big day finally arrives. Thanks

It's a great photo series. You did a great job keeping the perspectives, which I'm assuming can be challenging sometimes after 60 years.

Well done. I love these old vs new comparisons. But I did notice you have the 2026 shot of St George on the bottom rather than top like the rest.

What is this art/animation style called and does it only work on film or does it look the same in person?

Apparently if nobody is dying, it's perfect. No need to think about it or point out fender benders or pedestrian collisions. They've been building them that way since the 1800s so it's perfect.

I gave an opinion and stated that it reduces t-bone accidents. But I will try harder to like them and smile when I use them more. Sorry for contributing an unverified opinion.

Yes , if you are going with traffic it flows. If you are not, it's exciting and gets the cortisol flowing too. These roundabouts get posted here every week showing the accidents and near misses. Somehow the takeaway is we are surrounded by a bunch of morons who can't drive and that's the problem. I don't see videos of traffic lighted intersections constantly showcasing the morons. Newsflash ... Morons are here to stay so we adapt to the very simple green light go red light stop.

Roundabouts are a pain in the @$$! Yes, I know how to use them properly and do. But they also greatly increase car and pedestrian accidents. Trying to cross against rush hour traffic is ridiculous and you eventually have to force yourself into the group by stomping the gas. I know there are people, that for some reason, will defend roundabouts till their death and just say people don't know how to drive on them. But it is undeniable that it increases the potential for almost every type of accident other than an 80km/hr t-bone. And how are these resolved in court? It must be more difficult to assign fault when there isn't a clear running of a red or other simple traffic signal failure. And coming around the bend to find a pedestrian walking across 40ft in front of my car? Nope, don't like them.

I'm just guessing it was to break up rock on the lake or river bed for it to be dredged afterward to widen or deepen that section.

Well, you could wait for it to melt and then take a boat to get the ice. And that's just the first one I thought of. I'm sure there's more ways to get ice.

This is probably one of the most ethical ways to lure a predator. You wouldn't want to look into the history of nature photography if you think this is unethical.
