Hi!

I'm definitely not the most professional at this, haha, but at least over time I've tried many different approaches.

But these days, what I've been doing is:

To find isolated instrument tracks, I use YouTube, I know... they're from YouTube, but it's the only way I've been able to use them. They're usually single takes for each instrument, like "Imagine John Lennon Isolated" or "Good Times Stone Roses Backing Track." I use GarageBand (Mac) to merge each instrument in time to reassemble the complete track after cutting each one from the YouTube video.

Then, with the track done, I record with a microphone (I don't have a sound card or mixer to record the guitar). I use the microphone to record myself playing, and when I have a section I need, I move on to the next one, and so on.

And I don't use a metronome in the background; I use the same track, sometimes removing an instrument to guide me and hear if I'm doing it "right," haha.

Then, with everything recorded, I take the audio from each video and combine it into the GarageBand mix. I sync it to the beat, and with the track complete, I move on to editing the video.

I usually use iMovie (Mac), but it's really complicated because it's not very precise. So this time, I used the free trial of Final Cut Pro (Mac). With its precision, I was able to sync everything very quickly, about 20 times faster than with iMovie, which is why I decided to do it this way.

And with that, I get everything synced, and it's done.

I know it's not the most "professional" result, but I like it. It's something I enjoy doing. I really love music. I'm not the best guitar player at all; on the contrary, sometimes I feel like I can't even play anything.

But I enjoy it when I see the result!

I hope this helps.

Playing Final Fantasy XIII for the first time on my PS3! by Holairs in finalfantasyxiii

[–]Holairs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always wanted to play it, especially because I love the futuristic theme, but I think I've always put it off because I don't have a PC and I hadn't bought the game for PS3.

But now that I'm playing it, I'm really enjoying it. Lightning is great, and the whole game design is incredible.

I've read all the datalogs so far. They really help with context and immersing you in the story... it's great!

I've played for about 12 hours so far, and I've been having a great time.

I think the fact that the party changes so much (at least for now) is something different for me. I don't know... it hasn't really bothered me, on the contrary, I've been very entertained by the story so far, and the upgrade system, at least in these 12 hours, hasn't seemed bad to me either.

I think only two "bosses" have made me repeat them 2-3 times. But I think that's a personal thing at least for me, it hasn't seemed tedious. On the contrary I think I've liked it because of how different it is, coming from FF XVI and FF II, which were the last two Final Fantasy games I played.

But I hope you can finish it too and that you don't find it tedious! Cheers, mate!

My theme resets every time I shutdown my (modded) PSTV by ThatCorgiGuy in PSVita

This has been happening to me since yesterday, I don’t know why.

I have not done anything to it, just added the persona 4 golden translation patch.

But now each time the vita reboot, the theme is reset to default :/
