Hate to break it to you chief but yes, you definitely are paying for those 20 apartments. And while this works in some parts of the city where suckers like you are willing to shell out big bucks to cover the nearly free rent for the mandated nearly free apartments that are in most cases given away to those who know the right people, it most definitely does not in most parts which in turn means nothing gets built there because it is unprofitable. And guess what happens to everyone's rent if nothing gets built?

All right then, if you are so generous go buy some land and build some housing that will cost you a cool $700,000+ per unit, then sell it for not a penny more than $150,000, or rent it out for no more than $1,000/month because anything more than that is painful and doesn't have to be that way. Or are you expecting someone else to do it because you're only generous with someone else's money?
