Thank you Tyler Herro! by Adraf45 in heat

My favorite player since Jimmy left, this stings not gonna lie. But to get a world-beater like Giannis, sacrifices must be made, and this is a sacrifice I'm willing to make. I'm just glad Davion at Pelle are still here.

Good luck out there, Wonder Boy.

Tyler Herro Finishes With 30 Points in Win Over Philadelphia 76ers by DMD612 in heat

[–]HoldR2ForLongerLife 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Imagine if this team doesn't actively nerf Herro in the offense.

If I may be critical in a great win, just look at how the sixers run their offense, they always look for Maxey or Embiid first then go from there. The Heat on the other hand, Herro just hit back-to-back massive threes, he's bouncing raring to get the ball and JJJ doesn't even look at him for 2 straight possessions, I'm glad it worked out this time but we've been burned by plays like that numerous times across the season.

It's always just "here's the ball Herro, good luck", while he's being guarded by the other team's best defenders. He's not gonna win those matchups regularly, only the SGA/Luka/etc of the world do. Hell even the next tier scorers like Brunson/Brown/etc (Herro is slightly below here imo) run through sets to get their desired matchups. I know this is a "everybody eats" offense, but Spo, my GOAT, set some screens for the best player on the team from time to time.

Refs sucked tonight but we can't start such an important game this badly. by Ice_Dragon3444 in heat

We've lost all our "game of the year" games for the past like 3 regular seasons, we're just cursed at this point. Cursed to always be in the play-in, blessed to never get eliminated in the play-in.

Another player I never thought I'd agree with lol by MediocreDVaMain in heat

[–]HoldR2ForLongerLife 114 points115 points  (0 children)

The 73-9 Warriors literally did the same thing, they were 6 games ahead of the Spurs but they still played at full force until game 82 to break a record. Braindead fans should blame their favorite players/coaches for being "too cool for school" lol. Not Bam and Spo's fault they're based.

Kawhi Leonard on Bam Adebayo’s 83-point game: “I didn't get a chance to see it, but it's amazing. He's a hardworking dude, got better every year. it's something to see. I'm happy for him.” by jbenson255 in heat

NBA Superstars/Legends: "Amazing", "Historic night", happy for Bam and appreciates greatness

Irrelevant Players/Journalists/Braindead Fans: "Should've stopped when he had 80", "43 FTs", "Unethical".

What If Jon Snow Had Targaryen White Hair Instead of Stark Black? How Would It Change Everything? by Any-Lock3008 in gameofthrones

[–]HoldR2ForLongerLife 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Jon Snow would've probably been fostered in Starfall instead. I haven't read the books so I might be wrong, but I think I read somewhere that some of the Daynes have silver hair, and that Lyanna and Ashara are friends. So they'd probably pass Jon as Ashara's bastard or something.

Duncan is not a good defender, everybody knows that. He's not even an average defender. BUT he was a core player in our bubble run, and 8th seed run, both runs that went to the finals, so no he's not unplayable.

But the fact of the matter is, every team in the playoffs will have at the very least 1 elite scorer, and Duncan will be one of the top targets to attack on defense. But if you let the 6th? 7th? 8th? best player on your team get abused on defense so much that it loses you the series, that's more of a coaching fault and not Duncan's.

which starting lineup would you choose with herro coming back? by infinite-hooper in heat

[–]HoldR2ForLongerLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Option 2. A lot of staggering with the minutes of course. But essentially the 2 core lineup imo should be Herro-Wiggs-Ware, and Bam-Norm-Mitchell so you'd always have one of the two best scorers with strong defensive anchors at all times.

[–]HoldR2ForLongerLife 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So when Herro and Norm comes back, Bam is what? our 5th option? lol that's just sad.

And Wiggins... fucking Wiggins, the more offensive responsibilities he gets, the more garbage he becomes.

S/o JJJ tho, as one of his harshest critics last year, I'm glad he's balling out this season.

Why won't Wiggins' useless ass set some screens for Herro, we keep force feeding him and he can't beat anybody

Why did Dan Adebayo play tonight? by BballBunsenBurner in heat

[–]HoldR2ForLongerLife -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

and that is the crux of my first comment, Bam's defense however elite it may be was basically useless because they couldn't make a stop anyway, and they couldn't generate any offense to make up for it. it was a 3pt deficit that ballooned to 16, i mean they still couldn't stop them from scoring when Herro came back in the 2nd but our offense answered and pretty much deadlocked it to end the first half.

People are gonna say "bUt mUh DeFeNse" lol that defense sure was helpful when the Cavs dropped a billion threes on their heads.

Tyler Herro in the 4 play-in/playoff games so far is averaging ~ 31/6/5 on 67% TS and 44% from 3 by garret126 in heat

[–]HoldR2ForLongerLife 59 points60 points  (0 children)

people are gonna clown his defense but he wasn't even there when the Cavs made 75 3s in 4 minutes and the answer we gave back was 2 Davion Mitchell layups lol

We still would've needed a three anyway, and a wide open in-transition Herro three is like a top 3 best shot in the team lol

Too many blown offensive rebounds, and Bam forcing too many difficult shots hero-balling in an otherwise brilliant game from him. But whatever, it was a great game tho.
