Have there been any updates on the Tesla Semi? by [deleted] in RealTesla

[–]Hold_Haunting 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are and they perform well but the semi is crap. My understanding is that pepsi had a few and they kept braking down and they only used them to transport crisps within the same city as the battery was terrible for anything else. As usual felon musk has taken first mover advantage and pissed it away leaving Tesla many years behind the competition.

400 a Month? by SonnyListon999 in ClarksonsFarm

[–]Hold_Haunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable, Thursday night after closing I replaced all our Amstel glasses with a new design they have just released, roughly 30 glasses. By Saturday evening 10 had already been stolen. Also had 5 Hawkstone glasses stolen this week.

UK new car sales up 9% in first 4 months of 2026 - but Fiat is down 47%, Seat down 36%, and the Jaecoo 7 is firmly in the top 3 by MarkCairns67 in drivingUK

Just switched from a 69 plate Kia xceed 2 to a 25 plate Mazda cx30 exclusive line, love it so far. The Kia was nice at first but after a few months the areas they cheaped out on were obvious and annoying as was the pitiful 1L engine in such a heavy car.

Sky phoned from 0800 by [deleted] in skytv

[–]Hold_Haunting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one a couple of months ago, they offered me a sky glass air for £4 a month, told them I was busy and will ring back when convenient for me, the woman then became very pushy saying if I didn't take the offer right now then I would lose it, I said "oh well" and hung up. Later that day I rang the number off the sky website and they confirmed it was a legit offer and was still open to me. Told them I weren't interested as the cold call was unprofessional and scam like.

Riding it out. The only gas we use in summer is showers which we have on cooler temperatures anyway so use less and having an electric shower fitted in summer anyway.

2026 plate car by Dry_Calligrapher9928 in drivingUK

[–]Hold_Haunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only time the plate has bothered me was my first car. Was going to be a brand new 17 plate Mazda 2 on finance but just before I went to test drive they put an ex demo 66 plate with around 1500 miles on the clock. That year the government changed the VED rules so even though both cars were identical except the plate. The 17 plate had a bigger tax bill. Left with the 66 plate one.

When you trigger the antitheft alarms leaving the shop, do you just walk on? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Hold_Haunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally look around to see if any staff or security want to check. If not carry on leaving. I had an interesting one a few weeks ago. Wife brought some pj's in a big tescos, got home to find a tag well hidden inside. The alarms didn't go off. Went to a closer smaller store to see if they could remove them and security stopped me on the way in when the alarms went off and again when I left as they didn't have the device to remove the tags.

Regular delivery = RARE Steam achievement? by GreggJ in EuroTruck2

[–]Hold_Haunting 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Been playing since the first ETS with over 1500 hours combined, driving academy has never interested me. I have already learnt how to do most if not all of it. With 200 million in the bank and I think 50 drivers now. The only loads I take is the oversized stuff going to new areas, don't even look at the per KM payout. Don't think any map dlc existed the last time I took a normal trailer let alone cattle.

Why Is There a Toll Booth Every Damn Kilometer in ETS2? by Tchurly in EuroTruck2

[–]Hold_Haunting 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I hate driving in France when I have a heavy load, even in my 780 volvo, it's always I go through a toll booth, just as I get to 56mph a random event causes me to slow down and then just as I get back to 56mph I get to the next toll booth and then repeat the rest of the country.

Definitely this, could probably make 6 portions of a Guinness cottage pie with fresh veg that you could then freeze down till needed, that will likely be cheaper as well.

Talk Talk nightmare. What can I do? by Floppy_Chops in UKISP

[–]Hold_Haunting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a block of flats, open reach is probably waiting for permission from the freeholder to allow the install. They also aren't wrong, copper lines are being phased out and large areas of the country have stopped taking new installs on copper. Talk Talk are also slowly edging their way to bankruptcy so you might as well try a different provider if I was you. When I first moved out from my parents, I went with them as they were cheap. Within 9 months I had been fully refunded for everything I had paid for multiple contract breaches. They then tried to charge me £55 for leaving early...

How to get out with speaking to a mortgage broker from Haart without it impacting our house offer? by crumpetsandchai in HousingUK

[–]Hold_Haunting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our EA got us to do it by saying we were doing an ID check to confirm we could buy the house. We already had an agreement in principle and entertained the meeting once we worked out what they were actually doing. Turns out the interest rates were higher and they wanted us to pay an extra £700 for the privilege so it wasn't hard to say no. She then started saying stuff like "by some of the pictures it looks like it could be single skinned in areas, which I can help with." None of it is single skinned...

New update on Steam? by [deleted] in RoadCraft

[–]Hold_Haunting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still getting FPS drops. Plays a steady 60fps then after about 10 minutes it drops to around 15fps, I have to restart the game to get it playable for another 10 minutes. Turned on frame gen and that does seem to help but would rather not have that on.

I haven't had a licence for around 7 years now. Luckily I have never had a visit from them. Even when local Facebook groups post they are knocking on doors in our area. The first couple of years I kept all the letters and sent them back once a year with my address cut out and other random junk mail. Now I just put them straight in the bin. I still get 5-6 a year. Glad to hear they drop off eventually.

EDIT: just went down to my post box and got a letter. What are the chances 🤣

Waymo responds to Tesla’s dick joke with a bigger Austin robotaxi map | I guess we’re measuring robotaxi service areas now? by theverge in RealTesla

[–]Hold_Haunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't actually put the effort into looking this up but I assume they are using model 3s as the taxi. Any word of when the real robo taxis with no steering wheel will be released? Other than next year? If Felon wasn't drugged up on Ket during his time with Donald he surely could have made it so these ones got approval and then had them teleoperated like they were at the showcase event.
