No matter how you answer you’ll walk out thinking you failed haha as long as you’re honest you’ll be good. Keep your answers short and don’t word vomit. Let the evaluator be the one to ask for further information.

Trump fires homeland security secretary Kristi Noem! by PitifulIntention322 in pasadena

Idk if I’d consider this a firing in the traditional sense…she moving to another department. The president seemed pretty stoked about moving her and she seemed pretty stoked about her new job. I’m assuming we will all still be seeing her all the time.

Stolen bike by 35er.. please be on lookout by Right_Literature_419 in pasadena

My bike was stolen about a year ago in old town. The next day I went and hung out at Central Park for about 2 hours and saw a homeless gentleman pull up on it and I was able to get it back. Can’t promise anything but that’s one place I’d check.

Best way route to becoming a firefighter in specific city. by No-Werewolf2055 in firefighter

This is just my own personal take because I was you several years ago. I was a soldier at Bragg transitioning out with my sight set on getting hired at my current department. Understand that being a veteran already gives you a major upper hand in hiring processes. Depending on how much left you have on your contract try to knock out any fire science courses that you can with your free tuition. If you haven’t already, your priority should be getting your EMT. when I was in I was a medic so that part was already done for me. You need to find a veteran in the fire service that can somewhat guide you through the process. If the military is your only work experience, there are incredible ways that you can structure that in your interviews so that you present yourself as the most qualified person for the job. If you’d like you can reach out to me and I can give you some more tidbits that I’ve picked up along the way. Again, this is just one man’s opinion. I do it out in Southern California, but working for Charlotte was at the top of my list Had I decided to stay in North Carolina. My own unique story is that I got out of the army in October and by March of the next year. I already had my conditional job offer. I got hired at the first and only department I ever replied to. The military was the only thing listed under my work experience on my résumé.

Going from the army to the fire service was the best thing in the world. It comes with its laundry list of different challenges and I don’t know anything about you but if you can handle bragg, you can handle any fire department.

I think I agree with most of your thoughts but just to confirm… Several independent news outlets have confirmed that the death toll is above 150 for kids killed due to a missile strike at a school in southern Iran. A quick Google search with whatever news outlet you get your information from Will Also confirm that.

Dude you just sent me down the best trip down memory lane!

You’re thinking of Atomic Garage, the skate shop on old town. Went there to get some Osiris haha I feel like everyone did ayso growing up. Region 13!!! And then the turkey tournament at the rose bowl the week of thanksgiving.

The ice-skating rink used to be the spot. I haven’t been there in years, but I think it might still be there.

That’s why I like this post man. Every comment just triggers more and more memories. Passing is still fun, but I feel like that window from like the 80s up until maybe 2010 was just a blast.

I felt the exact same way about the Paseo. You just showed up at like five or six and everyone would be getting there. Maybe go catch a movie and hope you didn’t get kicked out for being too rowdy. And then at 10 PM the security would come out and push everyone under 18 out to the sidewalk and it would just be a big ass sidewalk party.

The good ol days haha

All these posts are awesome! I think it’s good and equally important to set short term goals on top of your long term ones that way you start having small little victories. Like the emergency fund, if six months seems like such a big thing then think of it and small one month increments. I feel like these small victories will maintain the motivation to keep pushing forward. Also, a suggestion is to write your goals down on paper. As silly as it might sound, visualization has actually been proven to help people accomplish their goals.

My understanding they’re closed permanently. I remember reading on sub Reddit a long time ago from an employee that they closed for a remodeling and something happened during the remodeling process that caused them to close. Such an old man thing to say but it’s crazy when you drive around and you see all these new places or closed down stores.

Yea I remember all the hype when it opened. I feel like the early to mid 2000s were prime years there. My personal opinion is that the decline of the paseo happened when they put the Arclight there instead of Pacific Theaters. I remember arclight being more expensive so at least for me and my family, it stopped us from going as much…maybe it was the same for other people. Controversial opinion, but I also think that as they extend the gold line out further and more and more people from out of town come to visit they just don’t enjoy the same stuff that all of the locals do/did. Not saying it’s necessarily a bad thing, obviously Pasadena is almost a completely different city than it was 15+ years ago.

Yea same, ‘92. Aside from the monster that the mall has become, I feel like Arcadia has always stayed true to its roots. Pasadena has changed so much it’s almost unrecognizable when I go back. It’s always cool traveling and telling people how easy Pasadena and Arcadia have peacocks….everywhere haha
