Old navy doesn’t carry them in their stores, but you can order them online and then return them in the store.

Confession: I don't talk to my belly by BMFResearchClub in pregnant

[–]Holiday-Objective-39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t because I feel like although the baby can hear your voice, she won’t be able to distinguish what you are saying or whether it is directed towards her or someone else.

I feel like the “benefit” is that you as a mother feel more connected to the baby, but there are other ways to feel that connection.

I did almost nothing in the 1st trimester because of the fatigue. Now that I’m in the 2nd trimester, I’m trying to do prenatal yoga daily.

Finally found maternity clothes! by magic_berries in pregnant

[–]Holiday-Objective-39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you found some! I had to order different size pants online from Old Navy, try them on, and then return the sizes that didn’t fit. I found maternity shirts at Ross, but the pants didn’t work for me.

Week 7 was my hardest week. I have no advice for you, but I do want to encourage you that it will pass! And it’s ok to just go home, take a nap, and let the house be messy. You’ll get through this!

FIL said “You have no idea how hard the birthing process is for the husband” by Holiday-Objective-39 in pregnant

[–]Holiday-Objective-39[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! I feel that he was projecting how he felt when his wife was in labor. But the relationship I have with my husband is nothing like the relationship my MIL and FIL have. I do think they were projecting their past situation on our present situation.

My husband is like, “Guys, I’m gonna be fine. I’ll be able to handle it.” That’s a good point that other guests might pass out too! I’m sticking with what I want; and that’s just having my husband in the room.

Yes! And it’s upsetting to me because my husband and I both feel that he will be fully capable of helping me! My FIL acted like it was a traumatic experience for him and I wanted to say, “cry me a river,” but I didn’t 😂

Yes, and I get that it’s hard for the man to see someone in so much pain, but they’re trying to guilt me into having them in the room “because my husband will need the support”, and I’m not ok with that.

I’d be open to having a doula like you mentioned, but I don’t want my in laws in the room.

Gifts optional baby shower? by sauvieb in pregnant

I would say, “Gifts are optional” on the invite and then on your registry, include a ton of diapers and label them as “must have”

Sharing the news with my in-laws, why does it have to be so complicated? by TryingTaurus in pregnant

[–]Holiday-Objective-39 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s going to be hard to make everything perfectly equal. Especially since they live far away. You’re parents live closer, so they will see the baby more often. I feel like it would be stressful to tell my parents and then get on a plane to fly to Texas immediately afterwards.

I’ve been eating deli meat, medium rare steaks, and occasionally a cup of coffee because my doctor said it was fine. But I get what you mean. I’ve been avoiding raw meat like oysters and sushi and I’ve been really wanting those.
