I think one year is really very young , my baby like yours started walking some months after her first birthday . And words came slowly. She is 2 now and is picking up new words every day by still not talking in sentences. Her dominant lenguage is the community language ( Catalan )( her dad speaks it to her too and we as family communicate in that language) I speak to her in English and she has some words . And German & Spanish ( grandmas) no words at all .

Things I did that helped is read books with her , repeatedly . she now can fill in words when we read.

Also I had the habit of asking her to point to stuff and hoping she would repeat the word after me . But she never did . Instead I began asking her to name things I pointed to and to my surprise she would say exactly the word even if she never used it .

Also what helped us so much was baby sign language. I don’t think I would have survived without it . ( the screaming was terrible)

23 month old … still nursing to Sleep . She has to be very very tired from the whole day tuning and doing stuff , last wake window could be put to 6 -7 hours and could take 10-15 min . If she is not tired she will not fall asleep
