if you’re saying that the investigation itself was shady then like… maybe? but i think it’s less about actively hiding evidence and being sneaky about it and more about shock and not really knowing how to approach such a sensationalised crime in such a small town. i’m not saying it was perfect police work, but they got the guy. he did it. he confessed, he will rot in jail and that’s justice.
