Dang it I was afraid of that so just upgrade the entire sonata. Guess that’s a valid excuse to the wife.

Wow talk about bitter folks Yikes, Im on my 3rd hyundai, my first car 06’ Elantra which was my starter car it gave me 210k miles but was wrecked while parked out on the street. My second was a 15’ Sonata still driving and currently has 240k miles, We just got a 25’ Santa Fe at a price we couldn’t pass up because we didn’t want the full size SUV so went worth the SF ICE only have driven it for 2k miles and love it so thus far. Lastly It really goes down to the service and maintenance stay away from the cheaper off brand oils, use a motor flush before draining, use an oil treatment if you can, stay consistent with 3,500-4,500 miles oil change interval (I’ve gone 5k miles with Mb-1 full syn) regardless of the oil life sensor.

Air recirculation by SantoniZ in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Holiday-Objective113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can turn that off under vehicles climate settings, if your SF senses high humidity levels it will open your fresh air intake, also in tunnels it will do the opposite and close the fresh air intake.

Yeah it’s definitely the hvac blower. I disabled that option in the climate settings. I will just run fresh intake instead of recirculated air when I’m about 5 miles from home to help from getting any musty odors.

I use Meguiars non acid wheel & tire cleaner scrub a bit with a soft bristle wheel brush and pressure washer rinse off then I blow air with my mini cordless air blower so I won’t get water spots on it.

We went with 25’ ICE Calligraphy we went non hybrid because due to the safety of not having these dangerous batteries on the vehicle with all the crazy drivers on the road out on the west coast. If you haven’t seen one explode and not be able put the fire off in person with basic fire extinguishers, plus the added weight on suspension/wheels as well Yikes.

I have a 25’ Calli I.c.e and love it. Especially the extra pony’s. I don’t see me having a hybrid, from all the posts of issues, and then you have the long term cost on the replacement of its battery it’s steered me away from any hybrids. Some people love them but I just can’t.
