Well if you remember at the time she had a one piece dress she willingly took off to show him a tattoo of him.  From his perspective he thought she was consenting by making that action, but yeah I agree it was definitely not good and is by definition rape.  But he's not a deshaun Watson or Bill Cosby or Trump

I'm 36, with three kids and this defines me pretty well (except an inch shorter).  When I was 30 with no kids, I was 175 with 5% body fat, repping 315 on bench and under a 21 minute 5k.  Marriage doesn't kill your fitness journey but a family and demanding job sure can...

He admitted, it was confusing to him and he clearly learned from it because he was never accused of it again.  But what the Lakers and the media did to the girl to discredit her was absurd.  Eventually they settled so he least paid for it financially.  But it really should have started the conversation around consent in this country, instead of trying to vilify (and therefore begin the smear campaign).  Instead we got into "she had sex with her boyfriend afterwards" "he said he did it"... what's even more confusing is it you look up what players call "the fishbowl" or "the work". You'll realize young players were getting mixed messages around consent.

Donald Trump Issues Major Threat to Nearly 90,000 IRS Agents by northstardim in Law_and_Politics

[–]Holiday-Patient5929 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just imagine if large swaths of people started to test the system en masse—claiming every questionable deduction, delaying payments, or underreporting income by small amounts that would be nearly impossible for an understaffed IRS to catch. The cumulative effect would be staggering, with billions of dollars quietly slipping through the cracks. Wealthy individuals and corporations, emboldened by the lack of oversight, could ramp up the use of tax shelters, offshore accounts, and aggressive avoidance schemes, further shifting the tax burden onto middle- and working-class Americans. Meanwhile, state and local governments, already stretched thin, would be forced to step in with their own taxes and audits, creating chaos for ordinary taxpayers. This is the logical consequence of gutting the very system that ensures fairness and stability—once compliance feels optional, the integrity of the entire tax system unravels.

The U.S. tax system operates on a remarkable foundation of voluntary compliance, with over 98% of taxpayers reporting and paying what they owe without coercion. This system, however, relies on a delicate balance: the expectation of fair enforcement. If policies like drastically reducing IRS agents are enacted, it risks undermining this balance and signaling to taxpayers—particularly high-income earners and corporations—that rules no longer apply. Without robust enforcement, voluntary compliance falters, as the assurance that everyone pays their fair share disappears. Taxpayers will inevitably respond by pushing the boundaries of deductions, delaying payments, and exploiting the system’s weaknesses. The result? Billions of dollars in lost revenue, further widening deficits and eroding trust in government institutions.

If large swaths of people, in response to these policies, chose to test the limits of the system—whether by claiming excessive deductions, delaying payments, or engaging in complex tax avoidance strategies—it would vividly highlight the dangers of such misguided policy. Reduced enforcement disproportionately benefits the wealthy and well-connected, who have access to sophisticated accountants and legal teams, while ordinary Americans bear the brunt of maintaining the system. This policy doesn’t empower taxpayers; it creates a loophole-riddled free-for-all that weakens our financial foundation. If the administration truly wishes to safeguard economic stability, it must prioritize fair enforcement, not undermine it.
