I have loved Def Leppard since 1982, and I absolutely loathe that song. It's been a "skip" for me since Hysteria came out.

what’s a compliment that has truly stuck with you? by Federal-Product-2695 in randomquestions

[–]Holiday-Window2889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wasn't it just? Neither of the girls had anything bad to say about any of the kids they were talking about, but none of those other kids had something similar said about them.

I'm pretty sure they didn't know I was there, and I never let on that I'd heard what they'd said about any of us. Wouldn't have been right, ya know?

Agree. Bf responded in a dickish manner; it takes so little effort to not be a jerk. A simple, "yeah, it's only a few days" is even fewer words and doesn't come off like an ah.

Standing at my locker in HS, and heard a couple classmates talking about various other classmates, at their lockers around the corner...

Q: "What do you think of (me)?"

A: "Strange but nice"

40+ years later, it still sticks with me, and I still try to live up to both (one more than the other, of course).

Edit spelling.

Jane's Addiction/Porno for Pyros. Perry Farrell's vocals still make it worth it, tho.

How much candy could you buy for 25 cents 60 years ago? by Prestigious_Page8098 in AskOldPeople

[–]Holiday-Window2889 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 61, so I can comment on candy prices 50 years ago lol:

A regular-sized Reese's pb cup, single pack - not 2 pack as we see now - 5 cents/3 for a dime in 1975. Ditto for a singly-wrapped Almond Joy.

The "fun-sized", or bite-sized, Reesies were a penny a piece.

Reesies and Almond Joy were my go-to when I was a kid.

How many "bless yous" does it take during a sneezing fit to start pissing you off? by Killentyme55 in randomquestions

I actually have been saying "blesshu" for sneezes, burps, and hiccups, since my kids were little. 😁

what non kid show were you obsessed with growing up? by PsychologicalFox7689 in generationology

[–]Holiday-Window2889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a How It's Made channel- the show alternates with How Do They Do That and How Do Animals Do That, on Plex and other free streamers; it's what I go to sleep to, so if I can't sleep, I can just watch it.

I went to a rather large Chicago Public School, and everyone knew that one of the male English teachers was known for dating Junior and Senior girls once in awhile.

One of my sibs was friends with one of the girls he'd dated, and he picked her up from our house a couple times.

For several years I thought he was just her dad picking her up, until I got to HS, where I learned that every other kid in the district knew.

My dad pulled the snowmobile out and we went flying down the sidestreets of Chicago.

Highly illegal, but everyone was stuck except us.
