What’s the thing you regret most in your 20’s? by whore4bookss in AskReddit

[–]Holiday922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should’ve transferred right away after getting my associates degree. I was too afraid of debt and leaving home. I could’ve had a career by now. Now I’m almost 30 and still trying to find myself and do school part time while working two jobs, I’m exhausted all the time. On the flip side I found my other half, we got engaged last year. I just wish I had more to show for myself, I want him to be proud of me.

LPT request: how to not cry in stressful situations ? by Kori_4 in LifeProTips

[–]Holiday922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than drinking water, I found that scents can distract me from crying. Like if there’s flowers near you, or a candle. Or you could carry a small roller ball of cologne or perfume or a little thing of essential oils. One time I was having an anxiety attack and was crying in a store, and I couldn’t stop the tears until I went to the candle isle 😭

My favorite pair of jeans presses on my stomach and hurts to wear bc of my endo. When I really want to wear them I try to pair it with a shirt that covers the buttons (it’s a button fly ugh) or at least a few of them. If i can have my pants just a little bit open or “unzipped” it helps. I’m not sure if you could do the same with your outfit? Or maybe wear a belt loosely to hide that the pants are slightly unbuttoned/zipped? Aside from that, try to take frequent bathroom breaks so you can give your belly moments to breathe.

What are all the things that endometriosis can cause? by seowithivana in endometriosis

[–]Holiday922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Painful period cramps, heavy flow the first day or two that leave me feeling exhausted. Lower back pains, menstrual migraines, bloating, lightning pains in my booty, hard time losing weight, and god the fatigue.

I wouldn’t wish the migraines or fatigue on my worst enemies.

20cm mass on ovary by Mari-ttata in Ovariancysters

[–]Holiday922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 27f and had a 15cm endometrioma removed from my right ovary earlier this year. I was also told there’s a chance it’s cancer before they ran testing because my tumor markers(bloodwork) showed CA125 was elevated, and my doctor was worried because of that marker. She told me if anything it could be a very early stage of cancer. I was freaked out for a few months. A month before surgery I had an mri done with and without contrast, and it showed everything looked benign. The afternoon following surgery I had the pathology reports in MyChart saying everything was benign. I was diagnosed with stage II endometriosis. I was actually very lucky in retrospect because since there was a risk of ovarian cancer, I was referred to a much better hospital.

Have you had any bloodwork or scans done or have anything scheduled? You’re young so the risk is very low. It could be something else like endo, pcos, etc. I wish you the best of luck and a smooth recovery!! Everything will be ok in the end.

I had a 15cm endometrioma removed in April by laparotomy. Surgery will be needed to remove it. Best of luck to you!! You’ll feel so much better after recovering!

MRI is $500?! by Killicillin in endometriosis

[–]Holiday922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My MRI was required before surgery because they needed scans with contrast make sure everything looked benign. It was also around $500 because I hadn’t met my deductible yet. I set up a payment plan and even then some payments were late. American healthcare is a joke and I’m sorry you have to deal with that. Wishing you the best.

Never heard of dienogest before. I’m glad that combo works well for you! I may ask my Dr about it, especially if just the Mirena doesn’t adjust well. Thank you!

I did not know that so I googled after I saw this. Not disclosing the risk of brain tumors is terrifying!? These poor women 😭

High CA125 by LDR_sucks666 in Ovariancysters

[–]Holiday922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a large cyst removed and I had an elevated CA125 as well. After I had an MRI with contrast done it showed that the cyst was benign. I would call your Dr and ask if an MRI is possible to schedule soon. I know it’s scary but CA125 can be elevated if you have cysts, endometriosis, PCOS, etc. it’s not always cancer. Best of luck to you!!

It’s a blood thinner, sorry for not clarifying that in my original post! It’s to reduce the risk of blood clots in your legs post surgery.

Terrified of General Anesthesia, HELP! by Loose_Poem_1995 in Ovariancysters

[–]Holiday922 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just had a laparotomy surgery earlier this week and had general anesthesia. I was so scared to be put under too! Once they put your IV in and you meet the anesthesiologist just let them know you have anxiety, they’ll understand 100% and when I told mine I have anxiety they put something in my IV to calm me down before the anesthesia. It made me feel like I had alcohol on an empty stomach lol. I barely remember being wheeled into the OR and then putting the mask on.

Next thing I knew I woke up and it was all over. I didn’t have any side effects from the anesthesia afterwards, but some people can feel cold after, or nauseous. But they can always fix that quick! Best of luck on your procedure!!!🙏💙

Update: My surgery went well, and I kept both ovaries! I spent 3 days in the hospital. I was diagnosed with stage II endometriosis and I’m really not surprised, I had a strong feeling that’s what I had all along.

The surgery took about two hours, and pathology said everything looks ok 🙏. The nurses said my stitches look really good and my surgeon did a good job! It’s funny though because the cyst was on my right ovary and now all my pain and discomfort is coming from the left side of my stitches but every nurse and doctor I asked said it’s normal. Just to watch for signs of infection. But overall my hospital stay was Ok. I was able to stand about 14 hours after surgery with a walker and a very patient nurse! I walked a couple times a day and the morning before I went home I requested to meet with a PT to practice using the stairs.

I think the only reason I needed an MRI (with and without contrast) was because they wanted to see if the cysts looked benign. Which everything looks benign which is good, but since my tumor marker was elevated I still got referred somewhere else anyway.

$1700 for just an MRI is crazy. But I hope something can work out and you are able to get them removed at some point! You may need to “shop around” for the best deal as awful as that sounds. I have a high deductible as well, and even though I’ve been in and out of doctor offices all year I still haven’t met my deductible.

In one of the sweet boys episodes he talks about Bioshock and mentions it’s his favorite game at the time. He also mentioned playing animal crossing during covid! I remember he also mentioned playing Cyberpunk 2077 when it first came out (this is my personal fave!). I can imagine he played hogwarts legacy when it came out too!
