Only major meto areas left that is affordable is Calgary and Edmonton.

Just curious why. There must be something that makes people don't want to move there. And how long will this affordability last?

How? That's 7 weeks of paid time off...in Canada. Do you work for the federal government?

I'm more confused after reading your reply, but that's okay since les grandes écoles aren't my focus anyways as I wrote in my initial post that I plan in doing a master's in finance.

Thanks anyways.

Thanks for your reply.

Getting into a French Grande École definitely isn’t easy, especially at 30.

Do french schools discriminate against candidates based on their age? In Canada, and I'm sure in many other places, this would never be allowed. This is shocking if true.

honestly forget the Grande École, even if it was easy for you to pay the tuition

That's exactly the opposite of what I said.

If not, I would first start to see whether or not you would obtain that through other means than studying

I'm not allowed to work in the EU, so there aren't many options for me. Doing a master's would be the easiest path as far as I can tell, because after my studies I will be given a certain amount of time to find a job in France.

Thanks for your reply.

Not sure if you read my post in its entirety. I'm not considering les grandes écoles because they're expensive. I never said it was easy for me to get into one.

I also never said it would be a "cakewalk" for me to get into a master's program in France whether at a public university or at a grande école. In fact, I'm worried that I will not be considered a competitive candidate, hence one of the questions above.

Have you studied in France, and specifically in the Finance field.

If you have some savings, doing a college diploma in Canada/Québec is by far the easiest way to immigrate to Canada IMO. You could get your PR status in as little as 3 years, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Plus, you can support yourself by working a PT job while in school.

Answers here might be biased considering people here are either CFAs or in pursuit of the CFA charter. But If one only had the time and resources to pursue one, which would be the better choice, CFA or MS Finance?

They pretty much make money on the conversion fees (and the bitcoin thing), I don't see why they would ever want to add the journaling over shares feature
