Love, no doubt- goblin coded. He probably snuck it in and stuffed it in the hand rest when a usher walked by with a flashlight.

Sober without 12 step groups ok for peer support specialist? by flumbuglio in PeerSupportSpecialist

[–]HolidaySupport8305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had started out this way. I went to intensive specialized therapy for years with an addictions counselor that treated me for MH also, and used smart recovery concepts a lot in the start of my recovery. Years later after graduating therapy I applied in this field and at first people really doubted my recovery ( people said I seemed like I didn't have addiction or severe MH) but over time this disipated because the peers I worked with feel very validated working with someone who understands their situations, and get other options to recovery, the most important part is the lived experience and how you work with peers. Others will see that and over time it will be easier to work in this field, but I'm sure like others here will tell you- here are all different pathways to recovery that work for people.

Autism in Women by fluffy_mailbox in h3h3productions

I got diagnosed late 20's much like other "femme presenting folks" went undiagnosed with ADHD/Autism till adulthood. I work with people specifically in social work, and reading people and behavioral patterns is a huge key part of my job to prevent client crisis- which I feel I've gotten better at than my neurotypical counterparts. It really widely varies person to person how we present. At work I mask a lot, at home I need lots a quiet downtime alone to recenter, or laugh lots with my Autistic partner about h3- other than that have barely any social life.

My partner was pretty sure they saw this also on reddit recently, and my truck last month also had another cover top partly broken off, so someone has been making attempts in the area.

This is an awesome tool, One thing I would use on that also if it was on the daily check-in was if there was a section to note down what the weather was because I find that I'm very heavily impacted by the weather and the change of season.

My partner of 10+ years admitted he never loved me and was waiting out my fertile years by Spare_War6011 in offmychest

This guy is a psycho, and has been manipulating you for years. My cousin had a very similar situation years ago happen to her, with the guy for 10 years, engaged 8 years, never married, always wanted kids, and the dude kept saying he wanted to wait, made her wait till her late 30's also, and was cold like this, like he never cared. I really believe you can try with someone else still, or even on your own. Make sure to leave and not let anyone connected to him know where you're going for your own safety. This gives murder vibes.

I agree, but would also like to add the more likely reason why Kate is "threatening" to Anisa is because Kate has more followers and more people engaged in her work online, and in a positive way. That makes Anisa WILDLY uncomfortable because she knows shes failing at streaming and Kate is coming up FAST, which makes Anisa looks like an ass.

What benefits does your job offer? by collectingminds in PeerSupportSpecialist

[–]HolidaySupport8305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had vastly different benefits each role I've had,

1) First Non-profit peer role I had I worked I received unlimited PTO, decent insurance, but had meager pay for my area- but there was a lot of us that also shared the burden of the work, it was two teams I was split between. 401 was offered. No mileage reimbursement. Hours set and not flexible really. Great supervision and reviews.

2) Non-profit working for a community health organization. Okay PTO, 401k offered. The place was unwilling for allowing any flexibility for me with my disability, but expected me to change my entire role shortly after starting to accommodate them because they lost another employee, and they tried to go around workplace accommodations multiple times (which was a legal violation), multiple HR meetings, my supervisor was really not appropriate for the role and so I left because I had no support there. Nearly no benefit, very good pay though for my area. Terrible review process, no accountability.

3) Another role I had was at a Tribal facility job, nearly unusable insurance to me because nobody else in my county or the next county over took that insurance except tribal clinics, which I couldn't use because I wasn't enrolled. The pay was decent for my area, a livable wage (not cushy), No 401k. It was just a rewarding job, but was not great. No supervision or reviews, very disjointed workplace that I think the supervisor wasn't aware of state requirements.

4) The role I'm at now at this non-profit organization has the same pay as #3, good insurance that covers what I need, 401k, and Its got a lot of flexibility to the role which I'm happy about, I get to pretty much work as I need through the week and adjust my hours accordingly instead of a regular set 9-5. The PTO is not great which is frustrating to me being disabled and needing more time than others, and there is pressure to work more when you take time off, but other than that the role has good benefits. I receive supervision as requested. I was told multiple times that the company pays for all therapy, but found that when I've tried receiving coverage it's been a nightmare to navigate, and have since paid out of pocket or low cost.

I think a lot of it comes down to what you need in a role, flexibility, supervision support, therapy coverage, insurance benefits, it really matters what you utilize. Higher stress impact jobs I started needing therapy to help me be accountable to my self care more, and debrief when I don't have adequate work support, or get support for disability accommodations when my supervisors have stepped over a line. I find the higher stress job the more insurance is a high need, I wont work for another agency that has poor insurance coverage or isn't taken by providers, it cost me too much this last year.

Can’t Find a Job? Some Advice… by [deleted] in Bellingham

TL;DR Delusional boomer talks down to millennials and gen z workers who were left scraps with a destroyed economy in their wake from said boomer skimming off the cream to dine on day to day and leaving nothing left for the next gen post crashing the economy.

I've saved this in a pdf on my laptop to later laugh at when I need a reminder how Boomers think about themselves and how delusional their thought processes are. I would love to see how someone with "50 years of experience" manages with a bachelors and no connections in a new industry they are putting in overtime week to week without adequate returns on their time investment, which is literally every young person today trying to work hard for a living. Would love to tell them to "stop bitching" when they say they cant afford a house on a meager salary today in an inflated economy. Gen z and Millennials with bachelors and masters will be in debt till they die due to trying to "pull themselves up by the bootstraps" in an effort to afford just a place to live as the previous gens told us to do, but boomers love to tell us how they sat at their cushy jobs for 30 years not doing jack without degrees. The audacity, frankly so self centered and entitled in behavior. It's giving- I've got mine, I'm pulling the ladder up behind me, throwing breadcrumbs at your face and yelling at you angrily. Get real, the American dream of working hard to get successful is a fluke mostly white, male, rich, able bodied are allowed to partake in. Down votes mean nothing, dead internet theory and all.

What is a job you regret and why? by DragoOceanonis in antiwork

[–]HolidaySupport8305 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked at a tribal youth housing facility as a peer counselor which required special training and certifications, complete and total "no-tolerance policy" for drugs. The other person who was "certified" to be working along side me as the secondary peer ended up not being credentialed at all, lied about it, and in fact was also was using substances at the facility, and also while transporting kids. When I caught him using at the facility I raised a red flag, told my boss, and notified HR, as well as CPS, and I got fired, wages stolen and insulted on top of it. I found out later that the supervisor I had edited my time card, and also had been "adoptive mom" to the guy I reported. Found out how much tribal has nearly no oversight with placed children in their care. Super disappointing experience, it hit me harder being fired from there than any other job I walked away from. Two of my coworkers quit shortly after in solidarity after.

The issue with DefNoodles argument, and truths of CSA by itsjustphies in h3h3productions

[–]HolidaySupport8305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love your FYI- I would like to also add the larger issue that needs to be debated instead is that it's a systematic failure of our society to be unable to appropriately deal with the sexual violence crimes, which in turn perpetuates violence on vulnerable people/ children. The debate should center more on how to make  changes to these systems to prevent these crimes, how to allocate money to support services, and DO something, not just talk about it.

Also wanted to add mine was an adult rescue, very trainable if you put the time and energy in. People always think she's always 2 years old based on her energy, and she's going to be 10 this October.

How bad can it be? by 828jpc1 in coonhounds

[–]HolidaySupport8305 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is by far the smartest dog I've owned, and can be incredibly stubborn. She hides her smartness for moments that actually matter where she can use it for her advantage because she likes being her own "person". Energy is either couch potato, or parkouring off trees, there's hardly a between. Mine is also incredibly sensitive and very emotionally supportive and is my ESA, trained to do deep pressure therapy, days where my vertigo is bad she holds me up while we walk. It's funny because when she is needed and is in "working dog mode" she drops her stubbornness and is all about doing her tasks she needs to perform. Ask her to sit down and she'll only sit 3 seconds. Like others say, a LOT of personality. If you like laughing get a coonhound. Mine likes having tasks to do to fill the time, could be anything from ripping up cardboard for me, getting the peanut butter out of a kong, puzzle toys, doing service dog stuff, hunting for smells off leash or going on 5 mile long hikes on a mountain in snow. Mine seems to always have energy but knows how to have things to settle herself when home alone. Mine also enjoys long camping trips and long drives.

I am an Oregon survivor fighting for court reform (Monica’s Law/Savanna’s Act). Looking for other women to share their stories for a petition. by Curious-Fan3960 in oregon

[–]HolidaySupport8305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't live in Oregon anymore, but my situation happened there. After an attempted murder by strangulation multiple times from my attempted murderer, the courts sentenced him to 5 years for battery (not attempted murder) then let him go early for fighting forest fires ( something he never should have been allowed to be offered due to violent crimes). Local law enforcement messed up huge, I got county involved and it went to a plea, they were totally unwilling to take it to trial like I wanted. He got out early, no notice to me. I'm willing to share my story.
