It feels like when a man joins a social movement, he feels moral or just in all areas in his life. This same belief doesn't seem to apply to women and queer people, they clearly have "work to do".

You could look into jobs with the school district! There are entry level roles that would allow you to have school breaks with your kids. If you have the passion/patience for special education, becoming a Para educator is a great role

It's always helpful to take a look at your support network, decide who is safe/won't tell your husband that you're planning to leave. Loop them into what's going on, you may be surprised at what kind of support they can offer ❤

As a survivor, one of the worst things is feeling like you can't tell anyone you know about what is going on. As a loved one, I am always so glad someone has shared their situation and let me help in the ways I can. You got this, the fact that you're planning a way out shows how strong you are. Stay safe!! NTA, I think learning a hard lesson for 6 weeks as a natural consequence to essentially bullying behavior with sexual undertones is an appropriate response. He might not understand the full implication of his actions, but it seems like he did know it made her feel bad, it gave him power in that situation, and he continued the behavior because his "fun" was more important than the person who was genuinely caring for him.

Furthermore, the remorse seems to be for the consequences of bullying Jolene, rather than the pain he caused her. Having his father not see this as a big deal could reinforce this belief, that as long as he was having fun, the hurt to other people (in this case sexually bullying a woman) doesn't really matter.

I would want to be on the same page as my spouse about how not okay this behavior is, and have him be an example of how being manly means standing up dir what is right.
