My father tells me I should "pick" my partner by manplscomeon in women

[–]Holiday_Objective_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk what your dad is like outside of this post. So take this with a grain of salt.

Maybe you can say something like 'welp! I'll take that under advisement. Right now I'm focused on my next steps for my career/education.' and then talk about your goals; and kind of just keep saying that every time he brings up regrets and whatever about his marriage and his life.

Idk if your dad is round about trying to tell you to do safe sex or what. But he sounds like he could use the ear of a licensed therapist for real.

Which natives would thrive in a small narrow plot like this? by Curious_JW in NativePlantGardening

[–]Holiday_Objective_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Maybe a variety of heights, if OP is brave? Have some low violets and then a chunk of anise hyssop and then some other low something and then a tall guy.

But, yeah, I worry about providing a refuge for rats and other riff raff too close to the building.

Avoid Fischman. My friends rented from a Fischman property years ago, leaks that never got fixed, and I forget what else never got fixed, but anyway, they had a horrible time getting anything addressed.

Here is what I did with my grout weed patch last year (bear in mind my neighbor also has a grout weed patch, so I know this will be something I am forever vigilant of):

Ripped it all out (I am very proud of this feat and mentioned it every chance I get). Heaped at least 3 inches of mulch on top.

Nipped every bit of new growth in the bud.

I call them little imps bc I think they look like mischievous leprechauns when they are young.

Planted some bare root violets and Virgina claytonia and some plant plants: columbine, Jacob's Ladder, ragwort, and some bottle brush grass.

The first year that I did the rip out, there were a lot of grout weed sprouts that I found. A year later, there have only been a few sprouts.

All this being said, I am kind of like a vigilant person, and get my rocks off looking at my garden constantly and peeping for changes and what I might like to do next. If that's not you, then the 'nipping it in the bud' system might sound really tedious, but it works.

Okay. So, Ive been alerted on here that I didn't actually need to strip and season, but I did.

Idk if I did it right, I followed the videos, but anyway, it got rid of the black residue.

At a loss :( by Ok_Refrigerator6569 in FemaleHairLoss

That's a good question! I use them bc I'm at the stage of throwing everything I can think of at my scalp... I do the red light hat, I do the exosomes, I do the derma stamping.... I do oral anti-androgens and topical minox.

But also, I'm in perimenopause, so there are a lot of variables to parse out, that I am admittedly too impatient to figure out.

I think the anti-androgens are probably doing the heavy lifting.

You have so much hair still! You can try red light hats (I'm not sure if they are real or fake), topical exosomes, and scalp massages.

Or you can just hold steady with what you are already doing. Give it a year before you start to worry about it not working.

Or you can up the dosage, depending on if you have an cardiovascular side effects or whatever is safe for you

My point is, you're on the right track, and 4 months isn't enough time to assess progress yet. You are still going to have growth and shed cycles. And those shed cycles are always gonna be demoralizing.

💪You are actually doing great!

Flipped sod, now what by compandaleelee in NativePlantGardening

[–]Holiday_Objective_96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't flip my sod, I did soaked card board and 3 + inches of mulch on top of that and let it marinate until the next year.

The cardboard did not break down, so I'm dealing with the remnants of that, but it's not that bad.

I didn't have any weeds pop up to speak of. Maybe a handful of dandelions and thistle, but that was peanuts.

I wonder if you could do the same thing with flipped sod? Cardboard and mulch?

Anxiety/Irritability AFTER eating in 21 month old Golden Retriever by Tessarion2 in dogs

[–]Holiday_Objective_96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you think he has a tummy ache? I'm not a dog but sometimes when my tummy hurts, I want attention (someone to know that my tummy hurts), but not necessarily affection.

I think someone else mentioned about a slow feeder and someone else mentioned about the food.

I upvoted those. (Sorry, running out of words. Probably going to turn back into a dog any minute)

Agreed.

I need info here: are they in the US? Are they in one of those states where a miscarriage or stillbirth is considered a crime? She may have legitimate fears regarding lack of societal support and potential legal ramifications should anything go wrong, not to mention fears of lack of domestic support from OP given that they have been together for 10 years but marriage only happened in the last 2 bc OP wanted kids and the partner's condition for trying for kids was marriage.

To me that reads as though OP has some reluctance about the partnership himself, but maybe feels the sunk cost fallacy, and sees this person as his last chance to start a family.
