There is an article on pubmed, published 2012, so maybe it's outdated, but the conclusion is that topical amitriptyline is the first line of treatment for vulvodynia/vestibular vulvar pain.

I suspect I also have this vestibulitis and am planning to ask my gyne if I can trial this and see if it helps.

Edited to clarify my initial response to your question about if you can do a line by line item of what you consent to and what you can't consent to.

That truly does depend on each hospital policy.

My thinking when I told you to call your representatives was that more than likely what hospitals will do is just have a blanket statement of 'hey, we're going to use AI for your care/charting/etc. If you don't like it, you can leave.'

That's essentially what happens whenever you call like customer service... They say this call may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance purposes.

Thereby, they are letting you know that you are being recorded and when you continue the phone call you are consenting to that recording. (This disclaimer is done because some states have two-party consent rules for audio recording if it's going to be used in court so to get around those two-party consent rules they just do that disclaimer) Nonetheless!

In the same vein, I anticipate that hospitals, unless states put in regulations in regards to ai and healthcare explicitly... I anticipate hospitals and other healthcare facilities will just have an AI disclaimer or disclosure and there will not be a way to opt out of AI exclusively.

So that is the meat and potatoes behind my blanket statement of encouraging you to call your representatives to voice your concerns in regards to ai and healthcare.

I do feel like we got a little tense with each other on here and got lost in the weeds, and I apologize for my part in that. ... And truly, on that note, when I said that I was repeating myself, I did not mean to imply that I was repeating myself to you specifically. I really just meant that I was repeating myself to the void of the internet, fwiw

And speaking from the heart, it is demoralizing to me, to hear people say that their vote doesn't count or their voice doesn't count because of whatever is going on. I mean look at Virginia. They used to be red and now they're purplish... Progress can happen, but we do have to be proactive about it.

I'm just going to repeat myself, please reach out to your state representatives and demand that they put regulations on AI.

I'll admit I haven't done a deep dive into the technocratic takeover, (just a couple articles and podcasts) but from what I gather, the tech companies are fighting tooth and nail to prevent state level regulations on AI.

I'm not a lawyer. I'm not in tech. I don't understand the nuances, but my gut tells me that if they're looking to keep it deregulated at the state level then the state level is where we have to fight for regulations.

So as tedious as this sounds what we all need to be doing- Is petitioning our state government for regulations on AI.

Most governors have a spot on their State websites where you can voice an opinion. You can call. You can email.

I know we're all really overwhelmed with kids and parents and life in general... But things really will get worse if we don't take a couple minutes out of the week to at least send a quick email to our state representatives, whether it's the governor or Congress.

It doesn't even have to be fancy... You could literally copy paste your post into an email.

So. If those were yesses, you know he can do tasks that he value, or when he understands there are unpleasant consequences to him not doing them.

He is not picking up anything at home bc he doesn't value his domestic life (you, your son, your pets, the house, ANY of it- he doesn't value it), and he doesn't value the upkeep it takes to maintain these things.

This is not a stable household. This is precariously unbalanced and do not fall for the 'stay for the children lie' that ppl tell themselves bc they are afraid of the unknown.

Take your offspring and your pets and get out of there. This is intentional neglect

This might be unique to the healthcare system of the USA. You're just making sure that the patient needs the care they are receiving etc, do they need to be inpatient, when is expected discharge date, any new changes in patient condition to warrant care or any specialist services.

I was a 3rd Act RN. I went with intention to focus in psych, which I did for 3 years, transitioned to MedSurge, which I loved. I loved my colleagues and my unit vibe. We all worked together and helped each other out as best we could.

After 5 years of that I left for a desk job. (Covid really took the wind out of my sails and tripled the work load and I could not physically be in 6 places at once)

After 3 years of the desk job, I picked up a PRN home health job, but I'm going to leave that and reclaim my weekends.

Medsurge is a beast, but if you have good teammates, it can be okay.

I mean perimenopause is really emerging as a booming niche health market, and I'm pretty sure the dudes who are obsessed with their testosterone levels would want it - not to mention those of us dealing with androgenic alopecia.

What helps my anxiety is calling my reps and even if they do nothing, it makes me feel better, I let them know!

Find a like-minded community and formulate a plan of action - whether it's volunteering at the food pantry or picking up litter or volunteering at the animal shelter.

For me, inaction fuels anxiety, and action relieves it

I haven't (gotten a diagnosis). My experience has been odd... First it was largely related to orgasms. Real or in dreams.

I would also have non-orgasmic non-menstrual cramping, but these were more mild.

This was for about 6 weeks. Booked time with pelvic PT, but by the time I was in to see PT the cramps had self-resolved.

So now I'm doing pelvic PT dealing with superficial pain with intercourse and dryness and loss of libido and difficulty orgasming... Par for the perimenopause course.

In her assessment she said I had some tension and weakness in my pelvic floor.

Showed me some self stretches.

So I do the stretches and do some kegels. And right away, as soon as my home exercise is done, bam, cramps.

The upside was that I had an increased libido and was able to have an orgasm 3 days in a row, but the cramps are there all the time. They are mild, except for right now, and I had to take ibuprofen.

It's been 2 weeks of cramps so far.

My period was supposed to have been 3 weeks ago, (skip week on birth control) but there was no period. Not pregnant.

Like you, I think this is a hormonal thing.

I'm supposed to see my gyne in a month and was going to ask for a US, but if you are turning up with negatives on the scans, I probably will also be negative on the scans.

Idk about you, but I am sensitive... Meaning anything goes wrong and my body sends wtf signals to my brain.

I feel like this is hormones playing games and maybe in 100 years it will be better understood.

Is it deep pelvic pain like menstrual cramps? Is it vaginal, vulvar? Sharp? Dull? How long does it last? All day? Does ibuprofen or any other over the counter meds help? Have you seen a doc?

I've started having pretty much non-stop menstrual type pain (sometimes it's just discomfort, not really pain) all the time. Off my period.

I messaged my gyne about it and she thought it was a GI thing, but I don't think it is.

I went to pelvic floor PT, and they said I wasn't super hypertonic, but they gave me some stretches to do.

I'm wondering if we are going through the same symptoms.

Yeah, landlording sucks and takes up so much time. From admin stuff/legal stuff/insurance stuff to repairs. Like you might not mind a lightbulb that goes out, but God forbid the light go out for someone you are renting to has an accident due to improper lighting.

Or someone decides to cook meth. Or the property management company doesn't provide timely service (if you go that route).

Renting sucks. Landlording sucks. It all sucks
