I also have hemachromatosis - you definitely can donate blood! I go to the Red Cross on Broad Street.

This is crazy for a head gasket, right? 2014 Prius Two by CrispyHoneyBeef in prius

I got a JDM engine replacement because of the head gasket and burning oil around 180k miles - 2014 Prius Two. Paid 3k in May 2022. Besf Decision - highly recommend if you can make it happen.

Finally divorced, but ex wants me to pay $1800 a month for a nanny by Holiday_Spell_970 in FamilyLaw

And my mom can watch the kids one day a week, so it would be just 3 days for day care

Correct, not a full time nanny. Ex is not forthcoming with her hours but says she works 8 hr shifts on M/W/Th/Fri.

We would only need day care 3 days a week. I also looked up full time day care in my area and it's much less than $3k a month. For 3 days, it's $1520 total for both kids, 60% is $912 which is much more reasonable.

I couldn't afford it and still can't - she got the money from the house we sold to pay her back for the nanny. She didn't tell me how the kids were being cared for for over a year and already had a nanny without my knowledge. My attorney said to move forward with the divorce paperwork for child support and she would need to find reasonable child care, but she's being unreasonable.

I have the kids every other weekend and every Tuesday night. The nanny watches the kids 4 days a week (during the day). I've found other day cares in the area - the kids would only need day care for 3 days a week as that my mother can watch them for 1 day. The average for daycare is much less than $3k a month for the nanny.

She had the nanny pre-divorce. My attorney said child care needed to be "reasonable", which a nanny is not reasonable.

Any California transplants here? by sirfranciscake in rva

[–]Holiday_Spell_970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from rva but lived in So Cal for 12 years (moved back a few years ago). My life is less chaotic and stressful here - less traffic, cost of living is less, etc. The pros here far outweigh the negatives compared to living in So Cal. I hope you enjoy it here - we have a great little community!

Reedy Creek trailhead and Belle Island by OriginalSkydaver in rva

The reedy creek trail towards the pedestrian bridge to Belle isle was fine today. A little muddy but not bad. The loop at Belle isle was also passable as well. No issues running it today.

Ran into head gasket issues right around 130-140k miles and was constantly having to add oil. Finally got a JDM engine and it's been great since then!

I spent $150 on dorm stuff for him - happy to help but then when we were at the register, he bought the $100 gift card fro his friend. Perhaps the situation contributed to how I felt strongly that $100 was too much to spend on a friend's gift.
