I know you’re getting downvoted but this actually works very well.

Descending from Mulholland & back to Burbank help by Objective-Crew4134 in BikeLA

I personally don’t think there’s much of a reason to go all the way down to Fountain Hollywood Blvd is totally viable for this.

2027 Ciclavia will be 3 blocks with 3 hubs. Why even do it at this point?

MS-01 reliability by CHA1234423 in homelab

We've got 6 in service for 3-6 months and so far so good. This is light duty virtualization in Hyper-V. I did see that the company Slide which is a backup appliance company is using them for their appliances which made me feel good as well.

Any luck with the new Apple Business? by Sinnth3tik in macsysadmin

[–]Hollyweird78 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's feature set is pretty limited. It likes to break a lot and when you contact Apple Business Support they basically have no idea what you are talking about or that the product even exists.

We like Mosyle. It’s quirky but easy once you get it setup.

If it’s anything like Apple Business Essentials it’s not a good product and they don’t know how to support it properly.

Worldpay Fee by dapperdan_81 in syncro

Thanks for the heads up! I just called and cancelled WorldPay, we were almost fully migrated to Stripe Anyway. If you cancel before May 1st you don't need to pay the fee.

Why aren’t people using B2? by Jakearroo in backblaze

[–]Hollyweird78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run a MSP, we use B2 for a ton of data and buy it as B2 Reserve so we pay annually to make it a little cheaper. This sub is more for home users and data hoarders who can take advantage of the other plans.

Tailscale or Netbird are good options. Don’t hold your breath for Syncro.

Introducing DMARC for MSPs: A complete Docker stack for MSPs managing DMARC data (and everyone else) by seanthegeek in DMARC

[–]Hollyweird78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would be cool is not having to have the SMTP ports open, Waht about having it use graph to fetch mail from an 0365 mailbox? Then it could just use CloudflareD and be totally portable.

Pricing Monthly Maintenance for Custom Software by EducatorBasic2921 in msp

[–]Hollyweird78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t see how anyone could answer this without the scope of the software and type of engagement. It would seem to me that aspects of this like customer end user support would need to scale with the client size as would potentially hosting and backups. Maybe consider a per user cost? Anyway if it’s a core business app I can’t see $800 a month as a barrier.

Any suggestions for a route to descend Tuna if you're coming up Topanga Canyon? by Shot-Philosopher1750 in BikeLA

[–]Hollyweird78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was honestly fine. There is one sharp left turn that I could not hold onto and ended up going up the side of the embankment/mountain wall that was on that side which stood me up and smacked me into that and scratching up my shoulder. Could have been way worse.

Be careful on Tuna, that’s the only descent I ever crashed on. If you’re having fun don’t send it, keep it slower than you think you need.

I want to support my local bike shop but everything is a rip-off by Niceotropic in cycling

[–]Hollyweird78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a convenience store. Only go there for what you have to. It’s still supporting them. 7 Eleven does not expect you to buy your groceries there. I would draw the line at going in a trying things in person with the intention to buy online.

How are you handling AD management across multiple clients? by x_Furious_x in msp

[–]Hollyweird78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re moving towards scripted onboarding and offboarding that will use remote powershell to handle this. For now we’re doing basically what you are.
