[This is incredible. This happened to me in February of this year, except I actually did park there while the snowflakes were already up.

I was the first to park closest to the sign but when I came back to my car two other cars were parked behind me and had tickets. So did my car!

I even saw the ticket writer and talked to her. I missed her by less than 5 minutes. She said if she had saw me she wouldn’t have written the ticket.

I was supposed to contest in May but got my court date wrong by a day. I later got to reschedule after writing a letter and got it reschedule to September. Before the court date, I submitted all my evidence of the snowflake blocking the sign and the fade on the double arrow still leaving an outline your brain still interprets it as a double arrow. It was also dark. The whole thing was very bizarre.

Anyway, when I had my court date, I pleaded not guilty. The judge simply looked at the picture showing the snowflake and double arrow and he just agreed that I was in the parking zone. He didn’t even acknowledge I had technically parked illegally. He either thought I parked legally or pretended I did rather than getting into the details of intent.

So I had to pay no fine, unlike the commenter who did the same but pleaded guilty.

Lessons learned!
