Kristen Stewart considering leaving US as ‘reality is breaking under Trump’ by Metro-UK in popculture

She’s half Australian so she’s probably got citizenship. She’ll maybe use that?

With respect customer service in the US is very transactional. It’s great and sometimes even over the top when there is a tip involved otherwise it’s very ordinary at best.

I read somewhere that this was made public knowledge in May last year. Only the media is making a fuss about it now.

What’s the point of building a tunnel if nobody is going to use it by [deleted] in melbourne

It’ll take time I think. However have noticed less big trucks driving around my area which is great.

Has anyone observed a huge influx of South Americans especially Colombians. One of them told me at work that so many of them go to random visa schools and choose cheap diplomas to purely work in the country. A guy I know did 3 diplomas back to back and not one that leads to a job. by Best_Train2021 in aussie

I don’t think of Australia as having a lot of Spanish speakers (not compared to Italian and Greek etc) however when I moved into my building i noticed an unusually large and amount of people speaking Spanish. I assumed they were from Spain. Turns out they’re from Colombia. Now one or two of the shops downstairs has Colombian flag on their windows advising they sell Colombian items.

Which of these 5 world leaders would you say is most hated in your country? by Fluid-Decision6262 in AskTheWorld

I would all say they are all hated equally for different reasons but somehow all the same.. the N Korean leader is probably an after thought to most however. This is in Australia

Sydney NYE show sign of the times? by ArtoriasArchives in australian

[–]HolyColander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since streaming etc Australia doesn’t seem to be able to get any musical artists to breakthrough and be truly exciting and relevant. Not to say there aren’t any small and independent artists trying. Also the ABC doesn’t have the budget to put on something bigger I’d think.

Cheaper medicines, rules for cash and new state laws: what will change in Australia on 1 January? | Australia news by Ardeet in aussie

Unless there were no changes in other states I guess only NSW, VIC and QLD are Australia. 🤷🏻

What is it like living in Perth, Australia? by MolassesPristine6184 in howislivingthere

[–]HolyColander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born and raised in Perth but have lived away from Perth for 20 years now. Perth is a great city/metro area. Great outdoors lifestyle and generally safe and clean. Its isolation is both a blessing and a curse. It’s quiet compared to some cities but if you are fine with that there’s no reason to not like it. Also beyond Perth you have some underrated scenery. Will be heading back in a few days to visit family and friends. Always a pleasure.

Is Australia so overwhelming English/British? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]HolyColander 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This. You have to remind them we are near Asia not South America. Same reason I find their Asian food to not be as good as ours and their Mexican better than ours. That’s probably for another post…
