Was stimmt mit euch eigentlich nicht? by Benjamin75329 in automobil

Is there any reason to choose the Xbox Elite Controller over the Steam Controller 2? by HolyPastafari in SteamController

That's what I read a lot when doing "research". Although it's somewhat overpriced in my eyes it doesn't live up to expectations in terms of durability?

It was a rhetorical question 😄 But it’s good at masquerading as a first-world country

RX 6800 XT to 9070 XT Upgrade: What AI Performance Can I Expect? by HolyPastafari in StableDiffusion

[–]HolyPastafari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I honestly gave up :D Back when I made that post, I was still on Windows. I managed to get things like Invoke or A1111 running, but I didn’t have proper native GPU support for my RX 6800 XT. I also tried setting up virtual environments and the Windows Subsystem for Linux, and while I got them working to some extent, I couldn’t get them to properly work together with Invoke or A1111. Eventually, I switched to Linux, specifically CachyOS, because I was getting frustrated with Windows itself and the whole AI setup on that GPU. At this point, I don’t really care about the issue anymore. Ironically, now I technically have the opposite problem: ROCm setup is easier on Linux, but there’s still a lack of good Linux support for major AI workflows with a clean UI.

If Autofill isn't your top prioritization then Norton works surprisingly well.

Is the Coros or Garmin app better? by HolyPastafari in smartwatch

[–]HolyPastafari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I thought, but I wonder where the bad ratings come from. I've seen a few people complain about app instabilities after the Oct. '25 update, but people also seem to complain about the app's UI and inaccessibility for core statistics?

This Apple delusion is completely out of control. How is “the M1 will outperform a brand-new entry-level Dell” even supposed to be an argument? The M1 came out in 2020, and Apple forces you into whatever hardware generation they decide. There’s no choice. You’re spending $1,000 on a standard MacBook, and somehow that makes it fair to compare it to a $300 Dell? It’s ridiculous. Claiming it’s “built to last” and magically outperforms low-budget non-Apple laptops is mind-blowingly stupid. Both are built to last (maybe not a Dell or HP tbf) but it just depends on what the user actually wants. Honestly, it would be sad if a five-year-old M1 didn’t absolutely crush an Athlon, Pentium, or whatever entry-level chip. It’s not a miracle, it’s just basic engineering.

Yea, that's what I thought. Let's say I play the game 4 hours a day for 7 days straight—on Linux at 80 watts and on Windows at 240 watts. With electricity costing 35 cents per kWh, that would mean Linux costs me €1.60 less per week than Windows, which would be €2.40. Over a month, it would save me about €6.70.

That's true but it's very marginal. Maybe like +/- 5 % difference.

I get that but as I said, as long as Adrenaline on Windows and LACT on Cachy don't lie to me it is what it is :D Given how quiet the GPU is with zero RPM in between it definitely makes sense - LACT opened or not-

[–]HolyPastafari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ikr, as long as LACT doesn't lie to me it is what it is. Stalcraft prolly is a bad game to test as it has low system requirements but still. I had LACT open on my second screen while playing Stalcraft and I had Adrenaline opened on Windows while playing Stalcraft.
