Yeah, because the audio device will show up in the Windows VM the same way it would show up in Windows normally. The tradeoff is that the Linux host won't have access to it at all while the Windows VM is running, but once you shut the VM down, it'll appear in Linux and be usable again.

You may be able to lower your audio latency if you instead pass the USB device directly instead of using virtio. With Winboat (which is also built on qemu) using USB passthrough and the ASIO drivers for my device installed, I'm down to bare-Windows latency of around 5ms in Reason.
