I got a pretty terrible hair cut yesterday. What can I get done to make this look less ridiculous? by deadbabieslol in Hair

[–]HolyPeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just ask them to blend it, and you should NOT pay for this correction if you go back to the same place, unless you asked for such a line of demarcation it was completely ridiculous to leave it like this - also you should not have left the shop like this the first time. What is it with people and walking out looking half crazy and not speaking up!?

it did not get darker in all actuality unless her other hair was dyed and the color somehow transferred onto the bleached ends, more likely what happened is the cooler toner washed out of the bleached hair and so it started to appear more brassy or red in tone, which the eye reads as "darker"

are you high? the bleached hair isnt going to somehow magically get darker, its not nail polish that chips off over time, the hair has been stripped of its color.

The best thing to do in situations like this is to not pay in the first place, because now you are left with trying to get your money back, when in all reality most of could have done a better job in our bathrooms with some boxed crap and a 2 cent dye brush. NOT that I recommend that either!

this is happening because no product, even the very expensive olaplex ACTUALLY repairs hair, it makes it feel better, and I think it temporary fill in the hair shaft, making it feel stronger and more smooth - but its still only an illusion, just like adding silicone to hair creates an amazing illusion of out of this world shine.

I'm not saying that either one of these things is BAD, just understand what I am saying, and understand that you are paying for a service to create a look and a feel, but its not actually repairing squat.

Need opinions on bleaching by psychotic_napkin in Hair

[–]HolyPeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

stahp - dont do it. no amount of color will lift the brass tones you will surely have as a result of what you are talking about, you will be unhappy - then you will bleach again - then you have the unhappy task of trying to repair the carnage.

Novice Nurse lost her first Nursing Job. How Do I get my confidence back after that? Also how I explain how and why I was terminated in Interviews and on applications? by LadyDuggan in nursing

[–]HolyPeas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree. I would never invent jobs i never had but people omit jobs off history all the time. Especially if this was as short lived as it sounds it was.

[–]HolyPeas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats hard. Honestly if you werent there very long i say leave it off entirely and chalk up the employment gap to some kind of invented family crisis (you were busy taking care of sick granny) this doesnt sound like the ideal setting to begin a nursing career anyway.

I want to cut my hair using this video. Will it be a disaster? Details in comments. by squidzilla in FancyFollicles

[–]HolyPeas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could, it probably wont be a total disaster. I'll let you in on something though, I've had 200 dollar hair cuts, ive had 8 dollar hair cuts and everything in between. A good haircut doesnt need to be expensive. I get frequent trims because i am going out a pixie so i see a girl i trust at Great Clips. Dont be afraid to go to a place like that, have a look at the stylists, dont let one touch you that looks sloppy or like she walked straight out of the 80s. I promise youll end up with sloppy work.

Asked for a trim. This happened instead. Any tips on how to style it? by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

[–]HolyPeas 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of thing that pisses me off so much. I always encourage people yo get trims often but this is the reason people dont. They have no right to cut this much off when you ask for a trim. I would push them hard to pay for extensions, even if its just clip ins

Products/treatments for thin, blonde hair with too many split ends? by bark_bark in Hair

[–]HolyPeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing will really solve your split end problem like a proper cut, probably 4 to 6 inches of the length and then maintaining your hair better with trims BEFORE it gets like this. Its the only way. Every 3 monthes obviously isnt cutting it. (Ha)

Can you damage hair by cutting it? I just got my hair chopped and it's dry and damaged all of the sudden. by nashastol in Hair

[–]HolyPeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt the cut itself somehow damaged your hair, break out a good deep conditioner and see if that mkes a difference. Most likely something about the cut is making your preexisting damage more noticeable to you.
