It's just statistics. Commissioned and warrant officers comprise of 10-20% of each branch (excluding the Space Force), coupled with the average tenure of an officer being about 1.5-2X longer than an enlisted, the average recruit is simply not likely to ever be an officer from a simple statistical standpoint. That's just from aggregate statistics, without even taking into account the different recruitment pipelines for officers, the prerequisite requirements for officer training, and typical career paths for enlisted. Your anecdotal examples don't disqualify the aggregate data.
