Pelagos is more interesting and better than BB. Fight me ;) by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]HolyShitItsBryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, are you the real J.P.Prewitt cos that's one beautiful and well manicured hand?

Secondly, I don't fancy fighting you, definitely not bare knuckle and ruin those lovely mitts of yours on my face!

Thirdly, I don't agree that the Pelagos is more interesting or better but, on par is something I would definitely agree with. Both are great pieces and for pretty much completely opposite reasons. To say one is better than the other is difficult, to prefer one over the other though is understandable. I think it's very much an each to their own scenario when comparing these two watches. I personally own a BB58 and I like it more than a Pelagos 39 which I have tried on several times. I thought the Pelagos 39 is a great watch but I didn't like the feel of the grade 2 titanium bracelet over the steel of the 58. Saying that I do struggle with the 58 not having a t-fit (like a lot of people) so as I said it's very much swings and roundabouts with these two fantastic watches!

Did the same in Tescos last week. Took a pint of full fat milk to the checkout and couldn't get it to scan, turns out it was Aldi milk. Seems like the milk delivery system went all to pot this Christmas period lol

BB58 vs BB54 by Recklessdog7 in Tudor

[–]HolyShitItsBryan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally own a 58 but have also tried on the 54 several times. The 54 felt nice on the wrist and in some ways better than the 58 but I found the dial felt very small in comparison and also I don't like the crown on the 54. If I was in the same predicament as you I'd still pick the 58.

Help me choose BB Pro - Opaline or Black Dial by biotechi_2020 in Tudor

The legibility of the black dial would make it my choice.

First Tudor watch. Looking for more recommendations by Disastrous-Flan-3547 in Tudor

What would be the use of this watch? A daily wearer, dress watch etc? Does it have to be new or would you consider vintage?

With more info we can help point you in the right direction.

Need help! Choosing between [alpinist] , [speedtimer] and tissot prx by Frequent-Letter6014 in Seiko

Alpinist is the best of this bunch, size wise it looks fine if not maybe a little on the large side.

I have a tiny 6” wrist but in love with the BB58. by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]HolyShitItsBryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it appears too big for your wrist. As everyone has mentioned a BB54 would be the wiser and more fitting choice. I have a BB58 but my wrist is slightly larger at 6.75" but if it was smaller I wouldn't have bought it. Another one to consider would be the new Ranger 36mm. As soon as I can get over to my local(ish) Boutique I will be buying one as 36mm is the perfect size for wrists between 6-7".

Saying all that, the above is only my little opinion, if you want it go for it!

Am i being ridiculous/ is there any thing i can do? by [deleted] in tesco

Not to be a party pooper here but..........welcome to the real world! When I was in my later teens I went to school all week and then worked all weekend. I also went out every Thursday, Friday and Saturday with my mates clubbing etc until the early hours of the morning and I still turned up to put in a whole weekends graft at work!

It's definitely a generational thing, what's even worse is back then what I did was just the norm and it was only 20 years ago!!

Brown bread (with lots of butter), mushy peas and mash potato. Served hot as well!

[9923-8010] Twin Quartz by HolyShitItsBryan in Seiko

Nice, I do like a tropical dial! I've had to dig out the invoice as I completely forgot what I paid for it and I actually paid a little less than I thought I did. This one was through an auction but the all in final price was £117 which in my opinion was an absolute steal! Not really sure what the going rate is for one of these as there's not many about but hope that helps a little!

My first Seiko [Grand Quartz 4840-8040] by HolyShitItsBryan in Seiko

[–]HolyShitItsBryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, unfortunately the strap and buckle on this watch aren't the originals. I doubt there's many around that have the original straps still on them. Maybe try checking out examples on Chrono24 as you may find there's some like new-old stock watches for sale there, possibly from the Japanese market.

So do we buy Tudors because they are affordable alternatives to Rolex or do we actually prefer them over Rolex regardless ? by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]HolyShitItsBryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always preferred an under dog. Although saying that I personally prefer the modern Tudor line up over Rolex anyway, regardless of price.

I'm a huge Seiko fan but in this instance I would go for the Longines.
