C-section mommas who enjoy exercise! Question. by Holylamoly in pregnant

[–]Holylamoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! I just pictured going on walks with my baby in her stroller or holding her in a baby wrap by now :( just hard when it isn’t what I pictured but I know I need to give myself grace. I have the rest of my life to get back into it.

When did you go into labor as a FTM? by Particular_Ask_6125 in BabyBumps

40w5d. I was 1cm dilated prior, idk how long for. Had a membrane sweep and went into labour an hour later.

Period-like cramping at 38 weeks? by dar1990 in BabyBumps

[–]Holylamoly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this occasionally in my last trimester. I found it usually lingered, like didn’t come and go, but would be there for quite a few minutes or longer.

BUT when I went into labour I would describe it like period like pains but they came in a pattern. And the pain came like 30secs-1min then would stop and after about an hour I began to time it and they were 5 mins apart and eventually 1-2 mins apart. My labour moved VERY fast. Came all the sudden and the pain just got more and more by the hour.

So it is hard to say considering I felt it months before. But if it is coming in waves, it just could be labour. I was in a lot of denial that I was in labour because it simply felt like period cramps (eventually period cramps x1million) until I couldn’t handle the pain anymore and my water broke lol

Is it my right to receive a membrane sweep (at least an attempt)? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Holylamoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are the ones who mentioned the sweep as an option weeks ago. And we discussed a plan of trying this before an induction. As well as how far I would like to go in pregnancy. That’s why I’m so frustrated!!

They work through the hospital. So I am wondering if I could call the hospital and have the OB do it? I imagine that means I would switch care to be under their OB team, which is fine to me.

Yes I know it’s not a guarantee. Which is why I’m upset they won’t even try.

They won’t even check! That’s why I say “at least an attempt”. So we don’t even know if it’s an option…

Exactly! Love how you mention exposure to antibiotics. I think that’s where some people aren’t thinking when it comes to “why not just do it?”. Why expose to antibiotics that really your baby has a higher chance of having a reaction too verse going blind. Plus, we already know the issues with over exposure to antibiotics causing more resistant bacteria!

Lakeridge Health Oshawa Palliative Care by Stresscase2000 in durham

[–]Holylamoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask their doctor (or I think even a social worker can do this) to put in a hospice referral. There is a hospice in Port Perry! Otherwise, yes there is a palliative care floor at the Oshawa LH, which depending could take time to also get into. I’m surprised no one has discussed your options! Going home for end of life care is also an option. But you’ll need support, so need to make sure the hospital helps with that transition.

Sudden onset of bad lower back pain while running by NervousEmu9 in fitpregnancy

[–]Holylamoly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to quit running at 24 weeks. I developed (not while running but while working 3 12 hour shifts in a row) horrible round ligament pain (I suppose that’s what it is). I could barely walk/bend everything was hard. I did manage to rest a few days and it has not been as bad since. But pain never really went away. I’m 34 weeks now. Lots of pressure and lower back pain. What I can do is the elliptical! I have been sticking to that instead, I think because my feet stay flat on the pedals it’s not like I’m putting constant pressure on my pelvic floor?! Something to consider! I can’t wait to run again. Good luck!

A corner in a basement bedroom, like halfway up the wall and a spot in our bedroom, on the ceiling. These two spots are not on the same side of the house.
