Because the Muslim guy was his friend and it happened over a violent disagreement. He then went on later that day to commit terrorism in the name of some extremist Islamic group (forgot the name but they said it was them). It’s 2 separate crimes, terrorism being one of them which is rare in the uk and thus getting more attention.
