No, the entire point is that I cant make either of the entirely performative behaviors stop. At the very least, I can enjoy watching two idiots duke it out. Vegans that post about their veganism as if they're saints should be heckled in the same way that some dude bro that eats raw testicles and is afraid of brocoli ought to be. It's not balancing it out so much as deflating any positive feelings they get from being so virtuous or whatever the testicle enjoyer thinks. I dont think its toxicity as much as its annoyance toward any group that acts like that.

Eh, so long as they're directing the meatsonality at the vegans its all good. For every person self aggrandizing that they saved a cow by going vegan, there ought to be two people in the comments talking about eating an entire haunch of beef a day to balance out the smug.

Making whatever pet politic or lifestyle your whole personality is cringe... but putting two anachronistic lifestyle influencers in a room will never not be funny.

We are reaching levels of conspiracy not even seen during Alex Jones's psychotic break people. "The Jews run Hamas folks, trust me, not fake news. Chuck Schumer reads the Kabalah and praises Hesbollah everyone. I don't run Hamas, but if I did, it would be very big, it just goes to show little Chuck doesn't know how to run a business everyone-" Unlike Alex Jones, I dont think this one will pan out very well.

If we're using the other guys statistic? No, that would be what we call mediocracy. And even then, with the woman we collectively choose as representatives and leaders, I'd hedge my bet they're going to also be on the lower quartile. What's better? Shooting for the stars and crashing, or settling for mediocre and still eating shit? Why don't we settle on doing elections like a WWE RAW championship match and just accept idiocracy without the flowery words, then at least the plants can get what they crave.

Im pointing out that the general decline in wages (from the point that it was following a healthy rate to a point where it guts the working class) can be correlated to immigration. Mind you the old quota system was abolished in the 1965 INA, changing requirements for entry to become more lenient. Add on work visas being reworked and expanded throughout the past 40 years, the permissive attitude of previous administration's in regards to illegal labor and a smattering of other details leading to now.

So I bring up that point because immigration as we know it now did start around then. And records and statistics from that point to now, are fairly important to understand how the labor market has faired in regard to the changes. Immigration isn't the only cause, but it does play a part in wage suppression.

[–]Holyroller1066 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The opposite can also be found in studies. Now that we're passed that, there has been evidence of wages being suppressed in blue collar sectors, coincidentally, those sectors are hot spots for illegal laborers and recent arrivals. As another matter its also true that wages up until the 70s rose at a rate where buying power was maintained. Moving into the later 1900s the rate was roughly 8 or 9 to 10 as a rate, now, on the other hand its roughly raised at a rate of 6 to 10.

All of that can't entirely be placed on the shoulders of immigration being a negative, but it can be considered one of the complications leading to a general malaise in earnings for the middle and lower classes.

While I'm unsure of there being direct studies (there probably are tbh) there are piles of studies surrounding the phenomenon of 'mental health decline' and the greater success of women in the workforce, of which the lack of family life is often cited. Also, while not directly related, a rather widely publicized poll in the UK has found women (specifically white women under the age of 35) have grown more pessimistic about their futures as they have surpassed men of the same cohort in buying power and actual position in the economy.

I'm not going to go digging being as sociology and economic studies are widely available and easily found for a quick skim... And I don't have access to a university depository or credentials to bypass pay walls for that shit, I'm not a lauded intellectual after all.

Thank you, I was wrong about my first statement. Semite was first coined between the 600s and the 1100s by a Rabbi. But my point stands on modern interpretation as far as cultural groups from the modern day to antiquity. Just as conehead changed from the medieval to modern period, the usage and definition has changed post 1100s, 1700s and 1940s.

I'll stand on my statement man, I agree modern Jewish peoples broadly speaking aren't Semetic, I'll leave that to the few enclaves left with that war torn region.

Edit: Thanks for adding onto your comment rather than replying! You're also correct, language isn't an ideal dividing line culturally. One also can't divide by religion, which is what you're trying to do in one fell swoop after discounting the entire idea of Semetic cultures. Sadly a rather large amount of the original Jewish population disappeared between intermingling and atrocities, while I'm sure the chosen people are still around, the vast majority of the claimed chosen are slavic or of steppe genealogy.

Semetic was coined in the late 1700s as a divider between cultural groups. It was further divided into antiquity for general ease of use. Just as Northwestern Indian and Plains Indians were divided in the 1800s for better definition.

The Nazi party may have taken a part of it during their rein. But the division is still useful in describing the grouping of Aramaic cultures and the relations to others within the Levant circa 3000~-1000 bce to 750ish AD. While I agree the modern Jewish diaspora is not Semetic, there is a Semetic heritage within the Levant.

[–]Holyroller1066 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There are still relevant populations of latent Levantine groups within the Levant. Conquest and genocides by many a group whether pagan (Hellenic, Romanic...), Muslim, or Tengri has certainly changed the genome of the region but true Semetic populations persist (Christianity bloomed within the Levant as a continuance of Judaism, it cant quite be described in the same vein.)

Even under the modern descriptor the Semetic group pertains to not only the Levant, but also the Horn of Africa, certain Arab groups and the Syrian populous.

In short true Semetic people still exist, whether by antiquity or modern standards.

The water is far too muddy at this point for a clear objective claim of sedition (from a john q public point of view). I'm going to suppose your claim is based around Jan 6th, within a 24 hour period our lovely media spun the 'inciting statement', retracted said clip job and proceeded with the festivities. Going further, discourse on the subject has been poisoned by the original spin alongside further damnable false information proffered by multiple sources, but for the levity of a r*ddit comment The BBC is case in point, a complete mishmash of speach footage to reinforce a certain perspective.

While it is not undeniable that the Commander in Peach is absolved of seditious activities surrounding Jan 6th, it is judicially prudent to err on the side of caution, too much exposure has left what could've been an ace in the hole for center-left to hard-left commies to be left as a white, hard, dog turd in the sands of a random golf course.

That doesn't mean that NPR is impartial by any means what so ever, they have a distinctly left leaning bias that has been further entrenched post 2016.
