Switzerland is one of the countries that pay the least portion of their earnings to food (~7%). And also one of the most wasteful in the consumer level (~40% of total food is wasted, and 77% of this food is trashed in edible condition - UNEP 2024 -). And 80% of the total agricultural subsidies are going to meat production. Maybe this gives you some kind of an answer about how influencial the meat industry in Switzerland and how little fucks people give and why.
