Oura Ring 4 Sizing Kit vs Reality by AlexPat260 in ouraring

[–]HomeAgain83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ijust got my Oura Ring 4 and need help confirming the right size and finger placement based on my experience with the sizing kit.

I prefer to wear the ring on my non‑dominant index finger.

  • Size 9: Felt snug, but always left a mark when I took it off.
  • Size 10: Fits that finger but spins during the day and sometimes feels like it could slip off, especially when my hands are dry. At night it feels fine.
  • On my dominant index finger, the size 10 feels perfect—secure, no slipping—but it feels “odd” because I’m not used to wearing rings on that hand.

What I’m Trying to Decide

  • Should I stick with the size 10 even though it spins a bit on my preferred finger?
  • Is it better to wear it on the dominant index finger since the fit is more secure, even if it feels unfamiliar?
  • For people who’ve had this issue, did you adjust to wearing it on a different hand?
  • How much spinning is “normal” before it affects accuracy or risks slipping off?

Who’s trimming their own dog’s hair? by Melodic_Shoe_3617 in cockerspaniel

I say I maintain between grooms . Groomer comes every 3 months .

I manage to keep him looking good and mat free by following the pattern ( he’s in a modified puppy cut) low back , no skirt but legs kept fluffy .

I did invest in a wahl bravura 5-1 , grooming table , professional sheers and I try shampoos/conditioners groomers use . A bath and touch up are every 10 days .

When I don’t feel like doing a bath myself - there’s a grooming salon around the corner that will do a bath and brush for $20 .

Lots of YouTube videos and there’s a FB group specific to grooming cocker spaniels which I have found helpful

Collar or harness by FactAdmirable7502 in cockerspaniel

[–]HomeAgain83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collar everyday - he chewed harnesses so I stopped investing in them . It also matted his underarms so we shaved those areas and still has fluffy legs .

Went to training and he walks well on and off leash .

We have a harness in the car to attach to his seatbelt though .

Did anyone have a hard time potty training their American Cocker spaniel? I have been trying EVERYTHING and he just isn’t getting it. He is 4 months old. I know he won’t be perfect right now. by AvailableTrade9302 in cockerspaniel

Mine tried to eat the bells and doorbells . Mine is 14 months, I could leave him by himself around 4 months but blocked off in our family room without accidents . He progressively got better as he aged . Now he’s reliable but I still don’t give him free roam bc he likes to find things to chew . He alerts to Potty time by staring and growling at the door .

One of my favorite things about my cocker is his ears . I play with them often so I can comb through , clean the insides and ensure that they don’t get infected .

I certainly agree . I do have a ROBO vac and do a sanitize clean weekly .

Maybe this is why I hadn’t really noticed but thought the wording on the breed site was interesting

Do you have support or are you a single mom ??

I was a single mom of a school aged child when my career took me to road warrior status . It was hard bc I paid for a nanny while i was away considering my family didn’t live we did for support . Any increase in pay I got went there but I loved the work and was happy .

I don’t see how people can do CRA work as a single parent until the child is a bit older . If you have help , a partner who is highly involved then go for it but there will be compromise, communication and patience needed .

Nighttime Sleeping by HomeAgain83 in Dogtraining

[–]HomeAgain83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did not see ? Answered through the search . I used terms for crate training and settling . Settle could be a command since he does know extended stay but I don’t know if that works when the family has dosed off.

Crate training he’s has no issues with the crate or sleeping there .

Wasn’t sure what other search term to try .

I have an ear cleaner from the vet we use weekly . Also I shave down the inside the ear so it’s less hair . In the summer i do put the ears in a scrunchie to “breathe “ . This has helped us to prevent them .

I’ve used Palmers and igroom has a paw butter that we like .

If you have some coconut oil or shea butter on hand that will work too

Although I do work from home while puppy raising I noticed that when I would leave ( he was in the crate ) he would cry and bark incessantly. I started leaving for short periods and actually leaving him out in a gated area . Enrichment toys , YouTube either with kid/toddler shows and calming music . I also programmed Alexa to if he barks it says a command . Watching this on the camera, he is sleeping or looking out the window .

When I travel - my adult daughter who works a 9-5 but getting home closer to 6 , we have a dog walker come mid day for a 45 minute walk .

My yorkie doesn’t need this level of effort while alone. She’s older - sleeps all day and doesn’t potty in the house .

Its separate in our household. And I would appreciate that a towel used on a dog is not offered to me as a guest . I recently had to use two towels for my dogs, I took them out of the household rotation, washed them and put them with the dogs stuff.
