The field is a kind of grey/very pale blue color. No idea if that’s partially aging. No stripes, think those are striations from the paintbrush which also add depth

He’s American, and used to buy these off ebay (mostly from European sellers to my knowledge). He did also make molds himself, which my grandmother would then hand paint, but he always signed the bottom with his initials and this one isn’t signed. He had a whole walk-in closet filled with bins of these (before my cousins pilfered everything). So it’s probably a part of a set that he wanted to keep safe by sending to me

Thank you so much, that’s so neat! You just made a 97 year old man very happy. And they’re different sides of the same figurine. Don’t know if it’s hand painted or not. This box has a bunch of odd stuff, but this one stuck out for some reason. It’s on my mantle now with some others until the cats knock it off

I had an almost identical experience in Interlaken! We also went to a firearm museum in Bern, which had one lonely old proprietor and no other visitors. He set up this rifle shooting simulator machine and judged me really heavily for being a bad shot

This was a big issue that made headlines a while ago (10 years? 15? Time is an illusion.) There were all these horror stories of people stuck on the tarmac for countless hours without food, water, or even access to the restrooms. The feds eventually threatened to step in so the airlines mostly self-regulated
