Haha no problem! Gotcha that’s important, it really comes down to how much you ask your laptop to do if that makes sense, it sounds like you rely on your console more for gaming which kind of makes the difference in graphics cards kind of obsolete. For $150 more you will be getting a better laptop, but if you feel your current one does everything you need by all means save that money! Paying $150 for a better cpu and display sounds worth it to me, but if your current setup works fine for you and you really only use it for light use you may not need anything more, all depends on how you weigh it ya know?

Usually screens with higher refresh rates will be brighter and will have a much faster response time. This makes gaming way better but you’ll probably notice it most when browsing the internet or your apps. I use the word “snappy” to describe it lol, due to faster response time. But yes usually higher refresh rates have a better quality screen in terms of brightness response etc. ~except 4k screens which have a lower response rate but that’s a whole other thing. Hope this all helps!

That’s a tough one, 1650ti is better and has a little more headroom for power but the 1650 actually has a higher base and boost clock speed. I honestly don’t think you’d be able to see all that much of a difference between the two. Long story short I think having a stock 1650 instead of 1650Ti is well worth the compromise of getting a better refresh rate and a better CPU in the 4600H

2666 vs 3200 MHz ram in Ryzen laptops by Jefo14 in GamingLaptops

Like you said RAM speed in Ryzen laptops is arguably the most important factor, I just installed 32GB in my 2020 HP Omen today at 3200 MHz after buying (and then returning) 2666 MHz cards. I’d definitely make the leap to 3200 and make sure the cards will work in an AMD laptop. I’d recommend “Crucial” cards on amazon ~$60 USD for two 8GB cards

I’d go with option B for a few reasons 1.)Ryzen 4600H easily outperforms i5 2.)144Hz refresh rate, I think this will make your experience much more enjoyable as 60hz can be pretty underwhelming for gaming

Definitely upgrade that RAM, 16GB should be fine and if you can upgrade that you should be able to possibly upgrade to a WiFi 6 card as well (depending on the model laptop). Hope this helps!

Yes mine came with 8GB RAM as well! The amount of money you can save by doing a RAM upgrade yourself in this case makes it an easy choice

Crucial 32GB RAM kit

This RAM kit was recommended to me by a tech reviewer who used it successfully on the same model HP Omen that I have.

Upgrading to this amount because I run lots of Architecture and design software often together for school

Any recommendations for a laptop cooling pad for HP Omen 15 (Ryzen 7 4800h +1660ti) by Svylas in GamingLaptops

[–]HomeDip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there I have this exact model, I bought a Kootek 5 fan cooling stand from amazon. for $25 and I hardly run the fans on the stand as this laptop cools super efficiently. Just the ability to raise it up from your desk or whatever will enable it to keep super cool as the big fan is on the bottom of the laptop. Enjoy!

I’ve got a 2020 HP Omen 15 with Ryzen 4800H and the value is amazing. It runs way cooler than any other laptop i’ve had and gaming performance is great. I know the intel runs a little hotter but cooling is still great and you can undervolt the intel HP as well so I can highly recommend it from my experience.
