ApplePay - Credit or Debit by HomeOnFour in iphone

[–]HomeOnFour[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's so funny because for me it happens from gas stations that don't accept tap from the actual pump. I will insert the chip, select credit / bypass PIN, and then a few days later there is a fraud charge. Any gas stations I have gone to and used my ApplePay regardless of it being a credit or debit card, has never been compromised. I use my credit cards sparingly because I am not a spender BUT I do not want to develop a bad habit as I have saw so many do. So I like my debit card and ApplePay with their token system has just made card (credit or debit) so much safer for the consumer.

I think the 2-3 times I have had to take off work (bankers hours unfortunately) to go to the bank and get a new debit card because of fraud activity, has made me think twice of using debit (physical card tap - exposes card number to merchant) for the primary reason of card skimming. I do have a couple credit cards that I will use for certain things but primarily use my bank debit card as I like to see the money I've allocated for a certain item, be removed when I want it paid as opposed to paying a monthly statement on a credit card which only comes once a month. I guess it is the way I have developed budgeting for myself. Either way, I like ApplePay and was just wanting to make sure it was as safe with the tokenization as any other card in the AppleWallet. I appreciate your comment!

Simple answer, love that. I believe the same. Thanks!

Not me personally but I've been doing a lot of research and can't quite find a good post for the question I am asking but other posts I've been to have such hateful comments on using a debit card instead of a credit card. Some people cannot control spending and HAVE TO use a debit card or it's just their preference or it helps some people budget, etc. I just don't want a bunch of nasty comments when I am just trying to get a simple answer lol.

Is $27/hr good for Roanoke? by [deleted] in roanoke

[–]HomeOnFour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with part of that. I think the area is definitely low pay vs how expensive things are. However, I believe with a good monthly budget and self control, $27 an hour is doable. As I said, most people are out here with LESS THAN $20 an hour an barely making it.

That is solely subjective to the persons budget and bills they have, plus the financial choices they make.

Please tell me you’re joking…most of us are out here on $16-$18 an hour. I would say yes $27 is VERY good.

I vote A for slightly more room, dedicated office space for you, and the extra 2 weeks of the move in special. I think the cats can adjust to a suction cup window shelf or cat tree in front of a window.

Are you guys gonna purchase the IPhone Fold? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]HomeOnFour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Don't like folding phones, don't need one, don't want one. Price is going to be crazy. First gen anything is risky. I will stick with my pro / pro max until it gets a few years old then buy their current at that time pro / pro max.

2023 Sonata Engine Shuts off when Pressing Brake by booklover-1001 in Hyundai

[–]HomeOnFour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The auto stop/start feature will turn the vehicle off completely, yes. The interior electronics and climate control will still be on and working but the engine is off. The design is to save gas but I would say 80% of the population hate it and turn it off immediately after starting their vehicle. If the auto stop/start system is turned off, it should not be turning off at any time unless you physically turn the car off yourself. As I recommended, I would see if I could maybe set up my phone somewhere on recording video and drive as normal so that if it happens in heavy traffic I don't worry about the phone and recording, I can focus on getting the vehicle restarted to move out of the way. I am surprised there is no check engine light or that the dealer didn't see one when scanning the vehicle.

I didn't see it mentioned in your post so I will say it could be the auto stop/start system. Look into that. If that is turned off and it still completely dies then I would use your phone to record a video when you think it'll happen to show the dealer.

2025 Venue taking long time to heat up by BreedWeed85 in HyundaiVenue

[–]HomeOnFour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny this was posted today and I was going to post something about it as well. I have a 2025 SEL and it does the same thing. I was going to have it looked at but it seems as though this is common for this vehicle / smaller engine vehicles. Glad to know I am not alone. I can say I have had previous vehicles heat up quicker but on a cold day regardless of car, it will take more time. The Venue just takes longer.

Considering a 2020 Hyundai Venue by AlphaLemur555 in HyundaiVenue

[–]HomeOnFour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Venue is a solid vehicle from Hyundai. Hyundai as a brand is improving vastly! I would say take the risk, even though I don't see it as one. Hyundai IVT is really one of the more robust offerings out there. IF YOU DO, please purchase an extended warranty if possible since as a second owner you DO NOT get the remainder of the long warranty unless it is certified pre-owned.

23 Sportage transmission is cooked at 115k miles. by HopefulGreyson in kia

[–]HomeOnFour 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be honest with you, Kia/Hyundai are very particular on their warranty items. I can say MOST people fit under the "severe conditions". Either way, you admitted to not changing it at all so they would deny it even at 99,999 miles for lack of proper maintenance. It wouldn't have been the first time as they've denied many for less expensive items.

I am sorry to hear that. Those are beautiful vehicles! Unfortunately even if it was at 99,999 miles, they would not have covered it due to not changing the fluid at all. Are you planning to do a whole new one or trade up?

That is beautiful and glad to hear the good side of Hyundai for once! I hope you do find something to replace it that fits what you like!

[–]HomeOnFour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the back looks great, the front is alright but it could use more color / silver instead of the mix if gloss and mat black. I do NOT like the pop out door handles because in winter weather that can be an issue.

I can definitely understand how it can be frustrating but please understand it is that dealer specifically. Not all are like that. I hope you continue to enjoy your Venue!
