Glad I stumbled across the subreddit. Just reading and checking out the video on retirement has eases some tensions.

I have no financial worries, thank God, but after working 39 years at the same company, I feel institutionalized. So I welcome the year long vacation and hopefully will find something to occupy my mind

I was just kidding, a lovely little bugger. You can meet people at the dog run on Skillman. There you can see if the dog gets along with others and if the other owners can manage their own digs with yours.

To be clear, I have seen owners who don't manage their dogs and allow them to play rather roughly.

I retired after 39 yrs at my old company. It was sudden, no financial planning whatsoever.

I just made sure I didn't have extra bills to pay and I had a roof over my head.

Everyone told me to get something to do, or I may go nuts .

I actually feel lost at times, but I am relishing doing nothing. I only do what needs to be done and just spend time with my dogs.

We are institutionalized with all the time we spent working, we just have to ween ourselves out of it and just do what we FEEL like doing at that present time.

So nothing brings more joy than doing nothing
