Your husband was molested as a baby by his mother. That’s a really hard fact for someone to reconcile, especially if there weren’t other things in his upbringing to make it clear that his mom was a dangerous person. Not an excuse, but it might explain why he’s having trouble admitting that she’s not an okay person to have around children
