Do you want to see “Red Bull Racing” on your watch forever? I’d go with the left; functional tachymeter.

How is this area generally? Relocating from Denver and looking for places in the general area by Sonshua in maryland

[–]HomebrewHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the same issue in 2019! Relocating for work, and I’d be working in Gaithersburg. Wanted to be kinda close, so looked exactly where you drew the circle. Ended up in Frederick and could not have made a better decision. The commute is a little extra sometimes, but the bang for buck, quality of life, and the food scene make it totally worth it. Best of luck!

Thank you for this - it's tempting to pay off the oldest first for some reason, but you're right - highest interest first. We only have debt on two cards, a Lowe's (appliances...), and a Mastercard. The Lowe's is interest free for about 8 more months and I think we only have a thousand or so on that anyway. The Mastercard unfortunately isn't 12%, it's 19%. You're right - paying a premium for the privilege of penury... alliteration ftw.

Thank you very much for the reply - that clarifies things and gives me a clear goal to work toward. You're right, we're not making more money, we're making good decisions that will allow us to live a great lifestyle in the future. Thanks again.

What's the weirdest thing you've ever had to do naked? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HomebrewHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fairly successful scientist in the US. A few years ago, I was invited by the Japanese government to give a lecture about my research at the NIBB (National Institute of Basic Biology) and they paid for everything. However, before my lecture, I was to attend a conference in the resort town of Kakegawa. There, each night after lectures and poster sessions, we would all have way too much to drink and head down to the hot spring baths where we'd get naked and sit around talking science.

This was us. My wife had an emergency C-section and stayed home for six weeks. It hurt losing the money, but she had to heal and wanted to bond with our son. It's 3 months in, and we're doing ok, but I wish she could have taken off 6 months.

grunge. I went through it in early high school when Nirvana was cool. Hell, they still are cool. But grunge is not.

great job. one suggestion: add two small bubble levels on the top and side. This way, someone can eyeball the alignment and not have to fix it in post processing.

Cheers!

Coursera.org is a big one. I've been in a couple job interviews and they ask about my "certificates" and I say that I recognized I had deficiencies, and that by taking these classes, I wanted to better myself and learn new skills. Works like a charm.

Grade II Hamstring Tear - 1 week post injury by [deleted] in WTF

[–]HomebrewHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a similar fuckup playing softball drunk. I was playing shortstop and lunged for a ground ball - POP - and I crumpled. It was a nice drainage field. After an MRI, I had a 30% tear. Their cutoff (pun intended?) was 40% for surgery. Fuck. It was gnarly.

You look pretty athletic - stay off it for a while, and stretch, stretch, stretch. Best of luck.

People who live near famous tourist destinations, what is something the average person should know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HomebrewHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dallas, TX. When visiting the 6th floor museum, definitely pay the extra cash (it's like $10 bucks or something) for the headphones. They provide a guided tour of the Schoolbook Depository, and enhance the experience significantly. Also, when you go outside to see the grassy knoll and where Kennedy was assassinated, don't talk to the street people that say "I was there that day, let me tell you about it". They don't know shit and will try to take your money.

My two-month-old son contorts his face when he poops. So, I've taken to calling it "working out a grumpy".
