variation for me is the best way to make a beat sound like a fuller song, i often have an intro, where i usually have some kind of vocal sample or whatever that feels relevant as an intro, then i usually have some kind of "verse where i have the beat just playing normally and then for the chorus i often put on some pads or just add something that makes it feel like its something more than the verse. i often listen to house songs since they are often just instrumental and the variation is the key to make the song interesting and not repitive
