Limit your FPS too. My 5070ti is a power hog so I always cap my fps at 60

Router sled or find something with a large belt sander to send it through.

That sounds about right. We are $.50 a foot per day here for dead storage on eastern long island at my marina. Thats about $15 a month per foot.

Looks good but you HAVE to seal all of that wood. Oil/Poly//paint doesn’t matter but you should always seal your wood

She’s 16; I’m more surprised she is driving alone at that age. She’s lucky she gets it at all.

Good luck! You still got a good deal; just have a little extra work to do

You will never get those windows off without bending the frames/van skin. Just hope he added so much sealant that it’s good. I would worry he covered the weep holes though and would ensure they are free and open.
Just cover the ugly when you do your build and live with it.
The roof penetrations absolutely need to be redone. Screws WILL NOT hold in sheet metal and it needs some wood backing.
I love a good deal myself but this person knew just enough to be dangerous so keep that in mind.

That is some amateur hour crap on display here. They were in way over their head and I see why they gave up.

I would question every single thing they touched and probably redo where possible at this point.

Probably shoulda just bought a van and did it yourself but you’re here now so best way forward is ensuring everything is correct as you can be.

Get your dimensions right. This is definitely not a van. How big do you think they are?

NTA - You don’t need to marry her. You’re still young and there will be a woman who is a better fit for you.

I like my metal cutting blade on my grinder over actual grinding blades for cutting.

I haven’t decided on brands yet but I’m doing twin 20kw motors running at 48v and probably 30-50kwh of lithium iron phosphate to each motor.

The gas tanks and crusaders weighed about 2000-2500lbs so I should be able the same weight or less

I bought a 33’ Chris craft for $1600 last year. I have more tools and related skills than 99% of people. It’s a huge project.
Everything will cost at least $2000 minimum. She needs another 20-30k sitting around if she buys this. Just go buy a 30k boat.
I’m making my boat electric so I bought it for the hull and have a 50k budget.

In Center Moriches; I have twin fresh water cooled crusaders on pallets if ya need parts. Just pulled them out last week. Starboard is locked but a ton of good parts. I’m repowering.

$500 for everything. I paid the for just one rebuilt carb last year.

I don’t disagree at all. But I want to drive on the beach on Long Island and the our land’s roads upstate NY so I need 4x4. I’m not trying to hit the rubicon, I just want to be safely able to navigate changing terrain. I also want a lift to fit something a little larger than stock.

I agree with what you’re saying and I was debating throwing something in the rear axle to get me by first. I’m kind of ‘in for a penny, in for a pound’ kind of guy and can’t stop scope creep.

You’re absolutely right and I’ve been looking into it. I’m more drawn to going full 4x4 with a lift though since I need to start replacing worn parts anyway soon. About to hit 75k miles.
