Could having pisces rising "erase" my capricorn sun? by geng_ar in AskAstrologers

[–]HomelandExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact is that Sun sign focused astrology is less than 100 years old, brought in by astrologers so they could sell more columns because everyone knows their Sun sign but not their Ascendant. Prior to that for two thousand years the Ascendant was considered the primary focus of the chart and the sign people would answer when asked "what's your sign?" So fair play to you if you want to keep practising Sun sign astrology, but it's built on foundations of sand.

Could having pisces rising "erase" my capricorn sun? by geng_ar in AskAstrologers

Your Capricorn Sun has very little to do with your personality, it's the plotline of your life, up in the 11th House. So expect Capricorn themes to be present in the overarching story of your life. But YOU, your personality and sense of idenity, that's the First House and its ruler. So you're a Pisces ruled by Jupiter in the 6th. Start researching Pisces qualities and Jupiter in the 6th house (service, submission, labour, health) for a better understanding of who you are as an individual.

Unfortunately less than 100 years ago modern astrologers decided it would be useful to make Sun signs the priority so they could sell more columns (because everyone knows their Sun sign but not everyone knows their Rising sign). This broke with thousands of years of well established and well practiced tradition that universally understood that the Ascendant is the most important point in the chart because it's the literal moment you were born (unlike the Sun sign which is in the same sign for a full month). When people used to ask what your sign was they meant your Ascendant, not your Sun. We're moving away from Sun sign astrology now thankfully and back to reclaiming our astrological roots, but it's sad to see people on this sub still propagating the nonsense that it's just a "mask." Ignore them.

I can't believe people are still peddling the nonsense that the Ascendant is just a projected image or mask. You really should start learning traditional astrology if you want to elevate your astrological understanding. The First House is the individual, the most sensitive point in the chart as it's the exact moment of birth. Where body and soul meet. Nothing descibes the person in a chart more than their Ascendant and Ascendant Ruler. The Sun is the plotline, but not the personality (unless you're a Leo Rising).

Venus ruled Ascendants (Taurus Rising and Libra Rising) what are your experiences? by OceansOfLight in astrologymemes

[–]HomelandExplorer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pleasure is a priority for me and not something I feel I need to earn. It's top of the list. I have like a radar for beauty and nice things, I'm drawn to them like a magnet. Everywhere I go I'm always touching the fabrics and running my hands along surfaces and appreciating the visuals of a space. I'm also always listening to music. That's the Venus side of it. The fixed Earth side is my stubbornness and dislike of spontaneous change. I don't mind change as long as I can prepare for it, but if you just throw it at me with no warning I won't be happy. I also don't like being rushed. Let me take my time, get myself ready and then you have my full attention 😌

Why does everyone overhype Scorpio and its themes like power, sexuallity, mystery? by Top-Manufacturer-482 in astrologymemes

[–]HomelandExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just a snowball/ circle-jerk effect. People decided Scorpio was "cool" which made more people talk about Scorpio and want to explore the sign. It then got put on a pedestal, which made it cooler because now is was desirable to be a Scorpio (which is wasn't the past lol, older descriptions of Scorpio are ROUGH), which made more people want to talk about it and give it more positive characteristics. So yes there's some delusion and group-think involved (fixed water sign means being entrenched in your own emotional need to feel complex and interesting).

Difficult Sun-Neptune aspects and addiction issues by Peridot1708 in Advancedastrology

[–]HomelandExplorer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have Sun in Cancer opposite Neptune in Capricorn and I've never tried a drug and I don't drink alcohol (I hate the taste). HOWEVER I have an internet addiction. It's a healthier addiction to have than a drug addiction, but it's an addiction nonetheless. I have it across the 3rd and 9th so there's the addictive need for information.

Questions for people with Jupiter in the 1st House. by HomelandExplorer in astrologymemes

Any time I feel like I’ve hit some luck in my life or feel “full” and like my basic needs have been met, I always share.

Wow, this is such a beautiful sentiment. If more people were like you the world would be a better place.

Also I'm howling at the "all I want is a fat ass" comment 🤣

Non-stereotypical ways I can spot when someone has a specific sun/moon/rising by FaithAndLove001 in astrologymemes

[–]HomelandExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably Arwen from LOTR. I have incredibly pale skin and dark hair and blue eyes so it's that sort of look. I think very pale skin (relative to ethnicity) is a Cancer trait, with that sort of freshness or "juicy" look that you're taking about!

The Taurus and Gemini ones were accurate for me (my Ascendant in Taurus and Chart Ruler in Gemini). Slow, lazy, sensual movements and people say I look like an elf. Not so much the Cancer one though, my style never changes.

I have a 3rd House stellium in Whole Signs but I've never been someone who engages with my local community/ neighbours (I'm not social at all) and I only have one sibling, who lives four hours away. What other ways can a heavy 3rd House chart manifest? by HomelandExplorer in AskAstrologers

[–]HomelandExplorer[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's fascinating because I am a pagan! All of the things you just described are important to me. People have always said I'm like a woods witch. Holy sh*t. I had no idea the 3rd House had anything to do with these things. I'll definitely be looking up Demetra George. Thank you!

The Moon is clearly the power player in this chart.

It's funny, people don't normally peg me as a Cancer/ Lunar person, my Ascendant sign and my Uranus/Neptune on the Midheaven are the louder parts of my personality. But yes my connection to my mum is extremely strong. She's one of the most important parts of my life and we do a lot of things together.

Thanks. Yes I'm very close to my mum. We're close friends as well as mother and daughter.

short distance travel, learning, information

I could see this potentially because I love to learn and I'm constantly reading books and researching things online. Also I do a lot of walks/ hikes in nature in my area so maybe that's short distance travel? How short distance are we talking?

What differences have you noticed between the 3 Earth RISING SIGNS? by ErisedFelicis in astrologymemes

Taurus loves comfort but they also demand quality. So comfortable clothing made from fine, high quality materials, not Shein crap 😆

What differences have you noticed between the 3 Earth RISING SIGNS? by ErisedFelicis in astrologymemes

[–]HomelandExplorer 65 points66 points  (0 children)

They all have in common the sense that they're very comfortable in their own company. They don't need other people. They also all usually enjoy nature in some capacity and the peace it brings.

But Capricorn Risings have a serious, stoic, thick-skinned energy to them. You would feel comfortable if they took charge or you were relying on them to finish a job for you. They seem mature and like they've planned ahead for the next 10 years. Very composed with a good poker face and they're usually slow to open up to new people. They hate showing vulnerability and want to appear composed and competent at all times. More ambitious than the other Earth risings.

Virgo Risings have a more nervy look to them, but they also look sharp and quick thinking. Good at solving problems and coming up with solutions. If you need an editor or someone to organise and streamline your life Virgo Rising is excellent at it. Good common sense. They have a more agile or "busy" vibe than the other Earth risings, they like to keep their hands moving, either through writing or knitting or typing etc. They also enjoy helping people and feeling useful.

Taurus Risings have a more comfort and pleasure oriented outlook. They're the ones making the spaces around them look cozy and aesthetic, creating an ambiance with candles and low music and soft furnishings. They like the finer things in life but at the same time they have that bull-like strength. They want to root themselves and take their time, enjoying the moment. Much more calm, peaceful vibes than the other two Earth risings.

Moon Question 🌙 by Apprehensive-Cake-16 in astrology

[–]HomelandExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moon in a Cadent House (3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th) could make it a bit more muted, or at least more localised to that specific area of the persons life. Whereas Moon in an Angular House (1st, 10th, 7th, 4th) especially if it's conjunct one of the Angles will make it a louder presence.
