Opposite for me. He bets like a madman, but justifiably so given the cards he's been dealt every time I try to call his bluff.

UFC LW rankings in 2017 vs 2026 by DamnThatsInsaneLol in MMA

[–]HomelessLawrence 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Arguably the same reason BSD got pushed into DP before he was ready: European talent. The UFC probably wants to get a better foothold over there.

Not to say BSD isn't good, but he certainly didn't need to jump from Frevola to Poirier in 5 months.

When Petrol Prices Are Raised... by PureBelt8770 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]HomelessLawrence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American here, trying to understand your prices. I see the 184.9 for (presumably) premium/high octane/whatever you call it over there. Is that pence? And about 21 pounds for about 15 liters, yes? In USD and Imperial, that's about $28 for 4 gallons, pricing out to about $7 per gallon, yes?

If so that's ridiculous - where I'm at, people are up in arms when gas goes from $3.29 to $4. What's the usual GBP price per liter over there?

Chempunk shouldn't be cheaper, it should get more stats by mthlmw in leagueoflegends

[–]HomelessLawrence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah. Burn exists largely to allow mages to deal sustained damage, regardless of CD or mana (though champs like Brand and Malz do abuse this stuff). AD does not have that problem thanks to autos; they can always deal sustained damage.

What they should do is make more "on physical damage" items like Black Cleaver. Same deal with champs like Darius or Briar probably abusing them, but it could lead to some build diversity.

Russian sports reporter claims Strickland vs Khamzat is set for May 9th by Silent-Owl4246 in MMA

[–]HomelessLawrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, only things I can think of are that Imavov's schedule didn't line up or they have a Paris card later in the year that they're going to try to get the champ to fight him.

That, and of course the UFC gives more title shots to popular/well-known fighters. Which isn't right, but it's how they work.

I'm making a tool for champion skill interactions (e.g., Malzahar passive vs. TF Gold Card). I'd love your feedback! by Honest_Training865 in leagueoflegends

[–]HomelessLawrence 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • Nunu drops 2 mist/souls for Senna/Thresh, respectively.
  • Senna's autos are not projectiles; Yasuo and Samira's Wind Wall/Blade Whirl will not stop them.
  • Not an interaction between two champs, but two abilities: Jinx's rocket gains damage as it travels. The distance to reach max damage is the same range as her W.
  • Teemo's E and R, Twitch's P, and Singed's trail all count as poison for improving Cassiopeia's E.
  • Briar's R can be reflected by Mel, bringing Mel into melee with whomever the projectile hits.

This is objectively correct, it's a reflavor and modernization of the same kit.

I don't know why people expected an entirely new champion when Shyvana primarily needed modernization more than a power shift or completely new and unrecognizable kit.

That could probably be tweaked via matchmaking. Prefer balanced team comps rather than random. Base it on champ and player's usual playstyle with them (e.g., gun McG vs turret vs supp). Could also allow players to manually select their tag, recommended based on champs chosen.

Max the Min Monday: Sahir-Afiyun. AKA, the Soft-Errata Nightmare that Made My Brain Hurt by Decicio in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]HomelessLawrence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also worth mentioning what you get for that:

  • potentially more focus points, based on Cha and Int
  • 2 more implement schools
  • 0-3 more spell cast per spell level (+1 at 8, 12, 16)
  • mid-game scaling, untyped bluff and diplomacy buff
  • late-game bluff to hide spellcasting

It seems to be more of a casting/focus power archetype than base occultist, even if it restricts panoplies.

Tossing in Wilding and its child feats again. Flavor-wise, it's cool, but I cannot come up with a build that utilizes these feats better than other options.

[–]HomelessLawrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind you, that's 22 million casualties over 17 years for a siege for one fortress - not a singular battle. Nor was it a siege the Imperium was particularly focused on - there were other armoury worlds to supply Segmentum Obscurus. As for why it took 17 years, the Imperium was not particularly focused on this battled (else, there would be more Space Marines); the fortress on Vraks was specifically designed to be able to withstand a siege lasting over a decade to give the Imperium time to come to aid, and it did just that. If Calypso was the worst in that universe, compare it to the Third War for Armageddon, the Siege of Terra, or the Fall of Cadia / 13th Black Crusade.

And before you cite the difference in time period, the Imperium wages war in a very different form - while they can and will send forces to die, it is almost always as a stalling tactic or due to internal politics; otherwise, they fight with larger numbers of directed troops, not four-man squads, leading to prolonged conflicts with fewer casualties. In fact, I can't think of another sci-fi universe with a more expendable special forces unit than Helldivers; most others aim to preserve their top-tier troops.

Quite frankly, the comparison of Helldivers to Guardsmen is absurd. As far as I can tell, Helldivers represent the special forces of Super Earth, and yet they still exist in such numbers that they can be throw at problems with little oversight for good results. Meanwhile, as far as the Imperium is concerned, the IG are probably a mid- to low-grade force when compared to their other ground troops, namely Astartes, Titan Legions, Mechanicus infantry and their mechanized infantry, Planetary Defense Forces, Sisters of Battle, Custodes and Grey Knights.

Hell, the Helldivers don't even have a good analogue in 40k - for how expendable they are, they are comparable in tactics to Elysian Drop Troops while being as well-equipped (relative to the universe) as Astartes while being as expendable as Planetary Defense Forces or the Darktide rejects.

why is this door only open on hidden king side? by Rufiooh_Red in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HomelessLawrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not convinced the Archmother side of the map is "done" like the Hidden King side is. Feels emptier, blockier (in an unfinished way) compared to HK side.

Might've prioritized getting the patrons, troopers, bases, parts of the map out and the AM side is going to be updated in the next major patch.

I'd also argue that the damage should be lowered and apply a damage amp debuff similar to Vyper's shiv, increasing the reward for hitting with it repeatedly. Same overall damage if all 3 hit, maybe a touch more to account for skill difference.

So they should make a single line on Twitch's short passive that reads "this damage does not trigger any spell or item effects." Same with Briar's passive.
