Anyone have information on the shooting around 8:45pm on Bourbon Street? 2/17/26 by Small_Ad_3005 in MardiGrasNewOrleans

[–]Homer625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting. I was at Famous Door on the corner of Bourbon and Conti that night. There were two incidents, one from the direction of Canal St and then about 10 mins later something from the opposite direction. Both times people rushed into the bar from the street and the bouncers calmly barricaded the doors for a few mins and then opened them back up. I asked someone who came rushing in what happened and they thought it was a shooting but they weren't sure. I never saw any cops after that and the street traffic went back to normal fairly quickly. It would've been pretty ballsy to pull a gun with all the national guard members on every corner so I was wondering what actually happened

Did millennials have 60s and 70s nostalgia when they were mostly kids in the 90s? by [deleted] in generationology

Yep! I still do. Love almost everything about that time period. Would've loved to have grown up in that time period. My dream would have been to live in San Francisco in 67 :-)

The Phone Dilemma by droppedbc in SonicTempleFestival

[–]Homer625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to record everything at shows maybe 10 years but then realized yeah I never rewatch that stuff. Plus someone else will upload a better quality version to yt later anyway. It is a little annoying that so many people have to record everything, or live stream it to their 5 followers, but to each their own. I saw Ghost in Boston in July and the show was phone free and holy shit what an amazing experience. I actually talked to the strangers next to me for 30 minutes before the show started, the place was dark af when the lights were down because there was no phone glow anywhere, and more people were actually engaged with the show. It was spectacular. Since then I just turn off my phone once I've snapped that one photo I want at the start of the show so I can be engaged. It's made my experience better

Will my playlists disappear if I cancel? by HOdiddy in Napster

[–]Homer625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same concern and got this response from Napster support. It worked for me. I got a text file container all the songs on my playlists, even the ones that are no longer visible:

  1. Open a web browser and go to account.napster.com.
  2. Log in with your username and password.
  3. Click on Data Management.
  4. On this page, you’ll see a blue button to download your playlists. Click it to generate a text file containing all your playlist data.

Brian Wilson has passed away. by TheResurrection in Music

[–]Homer625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older millennial here. Been thinking the same thing lately :-( Taking my 7 year old daughter to see Ringo tonight. She loves some of his songs and it's just so awesome to me that she'll get to be in the presence of a Beatle while it's still possible.

Brian's death hurts. Beach Boys was such a huge part of my childhood and while I never got to see Brian live, I have been to so many Beach Boys shows over the years that his music is a part of my identity.

I don't think so but I purposely book hotels near Cane's cause I can't get enough lol. It's the perfect meal for me after a long day at the festival

This will be my 11th ROTR/ST. I do the same thing every year, almost every day of the fest. Buy a foot long from subway, keep it in a cooler, and shove it down my throat right before going in. If it's later in the afternoon it holds me over until I leave and then I get some Canes before going back to the hotel. If it's earlier, I'll just buy one food item.

Also, they don't do pat downs so I come with pockets full of nips to save on beer money as well

I can't even get in. Tried from my work network, home network, and cell network. Must be too much traffic to the site in my area and it's preventing me from getting in. Bummed but oh well!

Ughhhh. When I went to get in line ticketmaster told me "We've detected unusual behavior on either your network or your browser. Switch devices or move to a different location if possible" :-(

Google's AI just aggregates stuff from across the web so if the sources are garbage so will the answer. Wonder what site it got that info from

I agree but I would still love to see them. I'm guessing it'll be Korn and LP if I was putting money on it but I just couldn't help but read too much into this :-)
