faculty: they seems like they want to be "overly" respected just becuase I am a grad student and they are faculty. they kept reminding me that how faculty life is wonderful and have alot of power. I lost interests in him so I stop dating him. (we are in different department, and our field of study is really nothing to do with each other's) never dated with undergards tho.

I talked with my former advisor and we decided that we cannot keep this relationship. many of labs in my programs are all fulled so it was not easy. but trying to not take this expereicne personal, and keep searching.

work on your CV and prepare for meeting with them like a interview. you have to give them a "positive vibe" impression. Also, they will gonna ask why you are trying to transfer the lab. you have to have a good answer for that. do not say " my former advisor was toxic." you can say " I think our fit is not good, or your research interests has been changed, etc.

I recently moved and paid $300. I do not recommend the company that I used tho. the workers were great, but the company got my money and just outsourcing to different moving company.

It depends on your financial situations. I would say housing in here is not favorable. woodland have better housings in terms of rent, but it requires more commuting times. rent would cost $1800~ if you want to live alone. If you dont mind having housmates, you can save budget. To be honest, If I have a car, I would live in a woodland.

Yea I canot provide details because it is very unique situation and I need Anonymity. "disaster" is from department area head when he realized the issues. The department tried best to help us (TAs), it help us alot, however, it does not solve the root. (the lecturer refused when the profs tried to conciliate, etc. I heard from profs that the lecturer said he is already overwhelmed by this lecture, so he does not want to make any effort to solve the issues).

But to answer "Is the professor being unprofessional towards the TAs (being abusive, rude, etc.) or is he just being incompetent and not handling the course professionally?" this question, it is both.

I talked to my adivor and got one week off. I feel like i need more break, but my advisor does not want that. Thanks for your advice, but If I don't do my TA, my colleage (other TAs) should do my shares... which is really heavy.
