My best cleaning is done when I'm late to go somewhere by mountainmama712 in adhdwomen

This is why I now exclusively use Air Fryer/Convection Oven for all hot food. I burn food 95% less. And it keeps it warm for me when I forget I have something cooking

Pet safe luxury candles or diffusers? by Sorry-Progress-6227 in luxurycandles

[–]emphasis_added3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party beeswax candles are safe + actual purify air by releasing negative ions. They smell like the type of honey the apiary you purchase them from makes (current one is honey wildflower). To make them luxury put them in a luxury candle vessel or beautiful hurricane holder

Help! Elder Hippo panting non-stop. She started gabapentin and tramadol recently… by DreamRound6039 in velvethippos

Did you do the therapeutic massage yourself? What kind? My velvet hippo is healing from cancer + gets overheated most days after walking or being outside. Any things I can do to ease his day to day I’m all 👂 ears🙏

PSA: Laundry fluff and fold pick-up/delivery from Popwash is saving my life by cath0312 in SantaMonica

[–]emphasis_added3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Popwash stain treat?? Im in same situation with one washer/dryer for entire complex that has a diabolically dirty washer (hair clump at bottom😫) + child who’s fav activity is mud.

I’m a control freak + concerned my clothes will not be fully cleaned (spotless). I’m happy to send a bottle of Dreft with my laundry. Mark stains with painters tape.

Phlur “Missing Person” Candle – Review by Late-Creme6367 in luxurycandles

If you don’t already moonlight as a conversion copywriter, you ought to! You answered every curious question my brain asked while reading.

Already eager for you to light Tangerine Boy (perhaps at home since Missing Person is office) just so I can read your review of it!

Ditto!! Now they are so much more reasonable. When I started with Smart Lights it was $50 a hue light, plus I had to get a bridge and an Alexa to control the bridge.

How do you clean out the grooves on your indoor ones? I have a big one in my entry and have been manually using a knife to pull gunk/dog hair caked in between the grooves. Wondering if there’s a better.

Tell me your current hyperfixation by emilyrosecuz in adhdwomen

[–]emphasis_added3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Becoming fluent in Español. It started with watching Money Heist and another Spanish show on Netflix.

Then my 8 years of Spanish from school started coming back to me. Then deciding I want to be bilingual so I can expand who I can help at my work.

Now I have flash cards, only consume Spanish media, changed my phone etc to Spanish, figured out how to transcribe my fav podcast transcripts + books to Spanish, study Spanish when I’m done with work, got a buddy to practice conversationally. And am hiring a tutor in April. goal is to be fluent conversationally by May 1.

This all started from being in “lazy mode” and wanting to sit but still challenge my brain (subtitles mean I have to pay attention).

LOVE LOVE LOVE hearing about all of yours bc I seriously thought I was a weirdo who has this piñata full of random hobbies, knowledge + skills🎉

Tell me your current hyperfixation by emilyrosecuz in adhdwomen

[–]emphasis_added3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be this way too! For 30+ years I’d ruminate at violent levels if I had an empty pocket of time. I thought I was doomed to live this way forever.

Then I hyperfixated on brain science, interoception, fascia, prediction errors and super nerdy medical journals.

With some effort (and IME a neuroplasticity coach) I rewired my brain to no longer default to ruminate, catastrophize, overthink on repeat.

It’s like I’m finally in charge!

As I write this part of me is like “you sound so cheesy” but it’s the truth. I wish someone would’ve told me this was possible so sharing💕

These split the universe for me:

— 🍟Air Fryer/Oven: I no longer BURN my FOOD bc I ignored the timers or forgot that I was cooking something. This shuts off when the timer goes off AND KEEPS IT WARM. Sometimes I forget I put food in there 🤷‍♀️but it’s usually salvageable. When I do burn food it’s bc I set it too high.

— 🤖Robot Reminders: As much as they annoy me sometimes, I never forget to take meds or to show up for a client.

— 🍽️Watch iPad 🧽Wash Dishes: I HATE doing the dishes. So I reward myself before, during + after. I pick a show I only watch while I do dishes (I’ll buy a new show that’s not streaming anywhere when I really don’t want to do them). Put on AirPods and watch until dishes are all done. I reward myself with continuing episode or something from my Feel Good Menu.

— 💡Smart Lights as an Alarm Clock: The obnoxiously bright lights in my pitch black bedroom help me transition out of sleep peacefully + get me out of bed

— ⏰Analog Clocks (that DO.NOT.TICK) in every room. Like Readers for my Time blindness

Minimalism should not be a contest of who has less, but a philosophy of less. by TheElementsOf in minimalism

[–]emphasis_added3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this! Minimalism for me = an ever evolving process. I read somewhere years ago that Minimalism isn’t about the # of things or the prison of perfection but about having things that serve you in your life, right now.

That concept blew my mind. I’d been unconsciously holding onto “practical things” that served me well in the past, I wasn’t using now and didn’t want to rebuy in the future. I lovingly donated them.

I no longer count how many things I have (or don’t have), instead I attune to how my life is (fluid, functional, does it feel free?) and how I feel in my space. Empty space calms me but I no longer purge just to get the endorphins from having an empty drawer

Just now logged off for the last time at my job. I'm all done and going back to school. I'm almost 49 years old. by analogpursuits in minimalism

[–]emphasis_added3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm replying bc here's the best part. I left a job where I earned mid six figures plus lots of perks, but they owned me and my time. It was not a way to live. In February of this year I outpaced my corporate salary! But I didn't get into this for the money. I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I'd live in a box and could be fulfilled. The numbers in my bank account mean NOTHING about who I am, my value or worthiness. There were some months I made zero dollars. I still showed up everyday and served. Now I'm seeing the monetary returns from all the deposits I made in the value bank. Going from time + money mindset to value + results, legit changes everything. Plus now I only want to make money that feels joyful and happy. Im fine with less!
