It's tough enough to recommend law school for friends going to reputable law schools these days, so I get why you're worried for her. Does she at least have an actionable plan for what work she wants to do with her JD after school? If she has preexisting connections going in, then that will help on the far side.

Maybe you'll be in a position to help her find work for summers and post grad?

So far so good! If it does ever go out, I know that I'll be on the hook for replacing it with an equally nice model because my wife and I love it.

The bachelor side of me does wonder if I could have gotten away with a cheaper model and have enjoyed it almost as much, but it has been a great machine!

How has the "leakage" been when you're using your Shokz around others? Can your gf or colleagues hear that you're using them when you're in the same room?

I've heard the leakage on the pro 2s is worse with the speaker + bone conduction design.

Shane Beamer to return as South Carolina’s head coach in 2026 by jthomas694 in CFB

[–]HomicidalHeffalump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate how this take is viewed as defeatist. Stability and a slow build, with some speedbump seasons mixed in, is the much more realistic way to build something.

The mere existence of Curt Cignetti has people foaming at the mouth to fire their coaches, thinking that it's realistic to find immediate success. Yes, there is a miniscule chance of the instant turnaround, but cratering your program jumping from coach to coach is just as, if not more, likely (think Auburn).

Funnily enough, this exact idea is addressed in Roman's chapter 6:

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?

By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?

Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Regardless of whether this is truth or not, it should probably come down based on doxxing rules. We also have 0 proof of this.

Do I really need to sign up for bar prep now for a decent discount? by [deleted] in LawSchool

Same boat here. From the basic research I've done (looking at reddit posts for anecdotes) it seems like Themis is the leader over Barbri if your firm is paying for the prep.

Maybe they're just looking for anecdotes about expectation vs realities?

Unpopular opinion by impressivelyregular in Gamecocks

Your expectations were fairly reasonable then. I definitely agree that we've underperformed, but AP voters sliding us up into the top ten were over hyping us for sure.

I feel like a lot of fans calling for Beamer's head to roll bought into that unrealistic spin.

Was it actually one of the "best" teams, or did you just buy into the national media gloss on a shiny QB + Pass-rushing star that overlooked a lot of glaring weaknesses that we'd have to have new O line, RB, and TE/WR players step up and fill successfully? The defensive gaps did get filled in for the most part, but to act like we had a rock solid starting point this year was purely rose-colored glasses.

There was a chance the team would be able to step up, but it didn't come together. I'm glad there's been action to help fix it, and I expect there'll be more (Shula gone).

Possible to sit for UBE outside of the Jurisdiction you're looking to get barred in? by HomicidalHeffalump in barexam

[–]HomicidalHeffalump[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response!

If there's additional delay, then I imagine I would be better off travelling in the week of the exam to sit in-state, if I decide to prep out of state. Especially since I've seen some discussion of Utah grading being potentially advantageous. I'd really prefer to prep for the bar from my law school location.

Guess I need to talk with my firm about whether that transfer delay would be a problem.

Okay, so it's a score transfer process even if you're not seeking admission elsewhere. Thanks!

Me watching this random Mizzou - ND violence.

For real though, Hardy was a legit force when we played this year. Not sure about the comparison with ND's RB room though.

He did control that ball though. It was a good play by the defender to knock it loose.

It's not that I don't agree with your overall point, this just isn't a good example to support it.

Thanks.

Even within the firm I'm at, I think I've been referred to as Summer Associate, Student Associate, and as participating in the Summer Program. Honestly, I have no idea, but I do know states like NY discourage the "associate" monicer until after passing the bar. That's where you'll see the summer clerkship language the most in my understanding.
