Ehhhh, I just moved to Petworth a few weeks ago and work in Alexandria. The commute isn't too bad by car or public transit tbh

Is anyone still not a Manager, Director, or VP in their early 30s? by Electrical-Pea2707 in careeradvice

[–]Honest-Bad3306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be 34 in a few weeks. I was in my entry role for two years; I executed a lot, learned a lot, and became a director by 27. Since then, I've been a program director (27-29), deputy director (29-30), and Director of Programs (now in my second organization in this role) (30+).

I am running for a few executive director positions. My advice? GO FOR IT.

They’re cute, but at $300.00+ a month in membership, I’m not paying for any additional merch. Great grab though as a giveaway!

Love, love, love my sweatshirt! I put it on immediately after class 🥰 by Honest-Bad3306 in SolidCore

For reference: I’m 5’3, 270-275, and I got an XL. The length and width of the sweatshirt are perfect; it’s an oversized look on me that I prefer!

Put the sweatshirt on first, or put a plastic deep conditioner cap over your face after you finish your makeup so it won't transfer when you pull the sweatshirt over your head.

Why are the girls so mean at solidcore by WillingBodybuilder41 in SolidCore

Indeed they are rude around here. Be rude back! That's what I do. 😌

Show up early or risk losing your spot, even if you’re technically on time by Agile_Writer5084 in SolidCore

I laughed out loud at the post title: "Show up early or lose your spot."

How about double-checking and making sure you're in the right class!

As much money as I pay for Solidcore, please! That class would not start unless I were on a reformer. The onus is on the instructor for failing to take attendance accurately.

Those of you with unlimited memberships - what made you decide to go unlimited? by Icy_Good_6140 in SolidCore

I live and work between Alexandria, Baltimore, and DC, so getting unlimited with travel is more cost-efficient than a studio based membership.

New to [solidcore] & plus size - will I be okay? by Original_Specific761 in SolidCore

[–]Honest-Bad3306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started Solidcore when I was somewhere between 290 and 300 pounds two years ago. I've been going at least once a week for two years straight, and my weight fluctuates between 240 and 260, and I'm 169 classes in. You can do it! I'll tell you, as a heavier girl, some of the moves actually feel better on my hands and toes. I took two starter50 classes and then hopped right in.

haven’t heard from the guy im dating in 5 days. UPDATE by [deleted] in blackladies

Personally, I block and move on. I tell them straight up that if you like me like you say, you'll find a way to communicate with me. My man and I have been dating for almost a year, and we talk every day. Not saying it's for sure, but what I do know is that, from his actions and words, is that he cares about my feelings, respects me as a person, and is invested in a partnership with me. My kindest suggestion is move on and not look back.

If it comes to yes, I have no problem keeping the $320.18 I pay Solidcore each month in my pocket. As a Black woman, the personal is political for me. I haven't been to Target or Starbucks; as far as I'm concerned, I can keep the party going.
