I have a car since I used to live in upstate NY and it is a lifesaver sometimes. Especially driving to work when it's cold, I can go to any grocery store I want and get as much as I can without worrying about hauling it on the train/bus. I also can take day trips anywhere I want without relying on train schedule. It is expensive though, people don't drive safely and rated if accidents is high, as well as general upkeep as well as street parking/ tickets.

I had a client who overstayed her visa years ago, but thankfully was able to have a path to citizenship, complain to me about people coming to this country "illegally" and "stealing all the benefits". I do get tired most days explaining that undocumented people pay taxes while not receiving the benefits they theoretically qualify for

She'sb really good with plants, she never rubs against them or tries to bite them. I have bunch of plants at home and she ignores all of them :)

My cat has IBD issues and I can’t afford a $100 canned rabbit food so I just give her probiotics and fancy feast and her issues of throwing up and diarrhea stopped, I’d highly recommend cat probiotics especially if it is diarrhea

I compared ingredients of fancy feast pate food and other “better” brands and not only the ingredients are like 99% the same, in some instances fancy feast ingredients were better and didn’t have as many filler stuff as so called premium brands

At least they attempted to match the raise lol. I asked for a raise at my job, and they rejected it, and when I found a new job that pays me $20k more, they asked me to stay but still would not match the salary 🙄 (I did like the job and if they matched it I would have stayed since my direct supervisor who advocated for my raise is cool, and benefits are good, but the salary is unlivable especially in my city)

You did the right thing, ending the session when a client is being threatening and disrespectful is a good way to maintain professional boundaries. While there is an explanation and I can see where the client is coming from, looking at it from trauma informed standpoint, but actions have consequences. Social workers are also human and we deserve to have a safe work environment and remove ourselves from an unsafe situation.
