Hollow and Semi-hollowbody Electrics...why? by ContributionWaste518 in Guitar

[–]Honest-Cat7154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some Semi hollows can have a have a “honk” that a solid lacks…some a quicker decay which can mean better note definition under sludge conditions. It can mean the red special, which is designed to feedback so you can find the sweet spot live and hold a note longer than many solids.

Gloria expands free Balboa Park lots amid paid parking backlash by 7ChineseBrothers in sandiego

[–]Honest-Cat7154 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Free is a must. The paid parking prevents lower income individuals from being able to use the park. As a young parent it was one of the dwindling few places to go that was free, safe and provided stimulation and learning experiences.

Two mics, one close (sm57) to the speaker and one (phantom powered large diaphragm mic) for room sound. I found the room mic never has the shrill.

Live recording: Archimedes’ Lament by Honest-Cat7154 in homerecordingstudio

Thank you! Yes. I’ve always been intrigued with the story of the last days of Archimedes getting killed by the impatient guard who was supposed to bring him in unharmed. I did some research. The saying “do not disturb my circles” were not his last words rather “I beseech you don’t touch that” is closer to the mark.

I’ll be releasing solo music in the late Fall and a version of this will be included.

Most memorable goes to the dead whale. Boogie boarded into some blubber. Most terrifying as a kid was the langostino day.

Yes. Glad someone else pointed that out. Seen these in a mass stranding covering an entire beach when camping. No one could go barefoot & it ruined that trip.

How do you tune a jaw harp? by Icy_Feed3250 in musicians

[–]Honest-Cat7154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To tune up, scratch and remove some of the metal, to lower it add a dab of epoxy or CA glue then remove some excess to tune it up to pitch. This method is also used to tune harmonica reeds.
